I’d like to see a series of internships offered from a joing project of The NRA, GOA and JPFO – Opportunities to work with,learn the ins-and-outs of and become part of the community of Firearms Instructors, FFL legal assistants, gunsmiths, range operatiors and more.

To have a sense of humor through it all, we could call the program “Firearms Undermining Barry’s Assault (on) Rights / Securing Normalcy Again For Us.

I mean first it was FDR – He had the CCC which required it’s members to volunteer their time to building and construction to save the federal gov’t a dime or two. Oh – then there’s Kennedy – “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country,” – unless you are black, hispanic, poor, or an immigrant. – You can sit on the couch – we are going to give you a NEW program – WELFARE. Then we got stupid is as stupid does Johnson – unfortunately a Texan – who upheld every last one of Kennedy’s hand out programs. Carter brought so much dismay, he was hated by most foreighn gov’t and considered illiterate. During the Clinton years, they make your kid have to have so many hours community service to graduate, If you wanted help going to college you had to join the American Jobs Corps – more free labor with an iffy payment at the end. Has any one ever met an AJC success story? Me neither.

Now – Now we have the great socialist himself – Obama. Just give him your kid and you will get back a good “citizen”. Citizen – I use that word specifically because that is what Obama wants – non-thinking, non-dreaming, non-ndividualist children who know how to be a good citizen – which is to do whatever your country asks you to do when they ask you to do it.

I seem to remember (sorry, no link) something in the Federal take-over of student loans, that some or all of the debt could be forgiven if the student chose ”public service” careers? Seems they have these kids coming & going; college credit if you do work for us, student loan forgiveness–if you do work for us! Bottom line, you need to work for us! Internships as the one presented have started great careers for communities that the Conservative movement has failed to reach. Although the conservative movement has great internships, the internships fail to lead to careers in private, non-profit, and government sectors to outsiders.
I am a product of the over looked conservative. I have interned for places where I knew more than the staff, worked more hours, dressed more professional, had outstanding customer service, ect… Instead of being rewarded for my work I am seen as a spy and given another internship. However I continue to intern, while my liberal friends have scholarships to graduate schools, fast tracked careers to top cooperate companies, connected to top no-profits, high paying government jobs, ect.

Overall we have ourselves to blame when we decided to hire our drinking buddies on Capital Hill , hire an illegal than a legal U.S. citizen to do our lawn work, the unqualified applicant that was born into the circles, ect. As conservatives we must set examples. Aware the government is run by liberals, where is the conservative private company owners, conservative non-profits, and conservative colleges? If we are waiting for government to change then we are just like the liberals waiting for government to do our job. We need to change then change government!

Actually, internships for college credit are quite common on almost every conservative campaign and in every think tank.

This is nothing unique, and hardly newsworthy.

you can’t get a PharmD without one, for example. It is required by the accrediting agency, and contact hours and credit hours are closely observed, and this is an essential part of the pharmacy education program. Briefly, students are admitted to a pharmacy program, and given a certain amount of didactic training (lectures, workshops, laboratories). Then, they are sent out on an internship, which is called an Initial Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE). They receive course credit for this time, and pay tuition money for the experience. The students then return to campus, and continue didactic training. After the rest of the didactic curriculum is complete, the students are sent out on another internship, this time called an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Internship (APPE). This is where students learn to apply their pharmacy knowledge in a real pharmacy setting. Normally, there are 6 rotations to an APPE, and the course credits received are a critical pare of ANY accredited pharmacy program. Period. The internship experience is absolutely critical for producing high quaility pharmacists. After they graduate, they may choose to do a residency … but that is not required of the basic curriculum. So yes, internships = course credit on a regular basis, and this is an important part of their education, unless you like your health care professionals to have NO practical experience what-so-ever.
