According to a BBC report, a suicide attacker was killed after detonating a device near the US consulate in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah.

As of now, all that has been reported is the following:

Two policeman were reportedly injured in the incident and the attacker is said to be dead.

The attack came in the early hours of US Independence Day.

The Jeddah consulate was the scene of a militant attack in 2004, which left nine people dead.

This attack comes amidst rising fear of terrorist attacks around Independence Day and this same consulate had been previously attacked in 2004.
