3. Go after those people who donate to schools, encourage them to demand more balanced staffing.

4. I am uncertain on how much celebrity endorsements matter, would be interesting to research.

7. Tie the industries that are failing the most spectacularly to the unionization in those industries.

8. This is a issue I am shocked to see Republican’s constantly weak on — when they have the public on their side.

9. Focus on making Obama ‘own’ what is happening. I don’t think modern Americans are as forgiving as they were during FDR’s reign.

– There were some other points that I decided to ignore. The assumption that democrats will gain in certain states, the inability to get congress, etc. Yes, we need to win elections, that is what all the other points are about.

– I would love to see some comments about possible solutions to these numbered issues, because they are worth talking about.

We lost control of the 111th congress in the 109th & 110th. I’d say we’re off to a pretty darn good 111th (given our minority status), and if the Republican caucus continues to value conservative principles over deal-making, then I think you’ll be rather surprised come November 2010.

Because I can tell you who it does motivate and please:

Democrats.

In the end, it’s my gut that says this strategy is a fallacy and is doomed. Bottom line is that BO was propped so far up on a pedestal, that he’s going to HAVE to carry the burden of what is obvious a result of his inexperience and incompetence beyond a teleprompter. The American people don’t like long wars, and they certainly don’t like short pocket books.

And as far as Prop 8 (amendment 6?) is concerned, I don’t know what the breakdown was, but I’m guessing there was significant crossover between “8″ supporters and Obama voters.

Remember FDR had over eight years with virtually no success at all in the great depression and almost all the old people still blames republicans for it.

As long as the House GOP remains united in opposition to this spending bill, and in its place, offers a viable economic recovery package of their own…

The Democrats will pass this monstrosity in spite of Republican opposition, and in the process, Obama will assume complete ownership of the pending economic collapse this bill will facilitate.

At that point, the Democrats will have no plan, no credibility and no hope.

Only for a while, then due to family tradition and religious roots, South American immigrants will swing more Right on social issues, as we saw on amendment 6. As long as the Right stays fairly pro family and has a large Christian base, we can still hurt the Dems on social issues, despite immigration

Arlen Specter, the ME girls and Senator Weepy will see to that.

That Republicans can uphold a filibuster on ANYTHING is a joke.

Liberalism, of the “progressive” variety, is on display for all the world to see…

And each day, more Americans become disillusioned as they realize: “Change” is nothing but more of the same, tired Washington politics. Except this time, it’s on steroids.
