GOP Leadership/Ryan budget & Debt Ceiling

Watching some political analyst just “gush” and wretched heeps of fear, over the Ryan proposal, listen the Democrats and liberals have already been running ads against you over Medicare and other programs. All these ads the Dems, keep saying, they are going to be running against Republicans over the Ryan Budget…its already been done. They have been over this “they want to kill Social Security and Medicare”, pitch since 1965. There is nothing new here

The debt ceiling, let President Obama and Reid, Hoyer and Wasserman-Schultz drag around about raising the debt ceiling over 14 trillion. This actually is perfect, its clear messaging, that things are not going great. Conservatives have every opportunity to play this out, with minimum negatives to the GOP…let them push raising ceilings, you start getting some cuts you promised. The troops will still be paid, so will federal workers…so let liberals get tied up over, being cut off the cash. It also puts Obama in partisan territory, somewhere he has tried to make an image of some peacemaker, since December.

Florida Gov Race

Feeling better about Rick Scott, three polls show him leading in a row. His quiet strategy, and now going back on the air, maybe has given the needed breather. Rubio’s ground game will push him along (not that Scott has a bad ground game).

Now getting worried about WI, TX and CA.

Meg Whitman will set her own course in CA, not much she cant do. WI will be a huge battle in a blue state, we got the best candidate, so its just going down to turnout.

TX, Rick Perry has worried me, seems he has been on his own, he has been badly outspent so far on TV, DGA is now piling on. He is still up in the polls, now its time for high gear.

Raese (WV-Sen Candidate-R)

John Raese has a devastating as running against WV Democratic Governor Manchin. How do i know the ad is devastating, he has contacted the Byrd family to denounce the aad, because of a stock picture of the Governor and President Obama. Byrd’s family never even had comment on the ad, till the Democratic machine got them involved.

The liberals in West Virginia are very nervous, they know they are fighting in what should be a wipe-out. If I was the GOP campaign, ramp up the ad, there is nothing wrong with the photo and its a good ad.

Bill McCollum

***Crying baby alert***

I wonder how much support he would have lost, if before the election he said he was going to act like a big old baby if he lost. If he wants to be coy, and not cut an ad for him fine, but giving media interviews about how he “still has reservations”….come on man. Makes me glad he lost now.

He thinks Rick Scott was mean, has he never been in a contested election with a Democrat? Rick Scott was nothing what the Dems would throw, buck up guy, do the right thing move on (same goes for Alaska Senator).

Linda McMahon

She has cut Dick’s lead from 41 to 10, that is good for the beginning of August. Hope she wins the primary, because she is the only candidate in CT that will be able to win. She will have the cash to push this thing into November, and not starve the NRSC of resources for other races. If Simmons crosses the finish line, no way he will be able to compete with Blumenthal. This is a long-term race, and if its down to a short sprint the last 30-45 days, then Blumenthal carries the day. Linda has the money and ground-game to wear him down.

Plus she is different and interesting, and this election cycle, different and interesting is a winning combo, not long-time politician.

Dems throw another African-American candidate under the bus

Texas Democrats are looking to bar all funding and help to a young, energetic candidate in Texas-22 (Pete Olson’s district). Seems she is not part of that big tent thingy us Republicans do not have.

Kesha Rogers ran a very public campaign in the Democratic Primary, on the position of impeaching President Obama, and the Democratic voters nominated her, fair and square. Now party officials want to deny her any help…that is not very inclusive?

Score on for freshman Rep. Pete Olson, the divisions of the Democratic Party surface again.

Raul Labrador overtakes Vaughn Ward in Idaho

Looks like Labrador will win the Idaho primary, over Vaughn Ward. This is probably a good thing.

I watched Raul Labrador debate, he had me sold after he mentioned “the conservative Governor of Puerto Rico” Luis Fortuno, but he will be a good candidate for Idaho. He has a better chance against Walt, than Ward, whose campaign just exploded.

Scott Brown to PA-12

Tim Burns in PA-12 is getting some GOTV help from Scott Brown, next week WSJ is reporting he will be campaigning in PA.

This is why our work in MA pays off, success breeds success. Scott Brown, is a team player and him lending himself to Tim Burns (they probably disagree on a number of social issues), but having a Republican majority means conservatives win.

Scott Brown is the real deal, he gets to represent the most liberal of states, but his campaign appearance in PA will be 3x’s anything Joe Biden could cobble together.

Gov. Candidate Chris Dudley (R-OR)

Have not been paying attention to governor’s race in blue Oregon, but the Republican candidate is very promising. 6’11 former Portland Trail Blazers’ center is running a great campaign so far, just releasing his first ad. His background is not just basketball, but economics and political science degree from Yale University. Oregon Republicans have to be happy to have this guy running in their state, with the ability to reach the center, but focus on conservative economic issues. This is a race we need to look at, check out his website.

Bill White (D-Tx) wants to be your liberal governor, but does not know how Texas government works.

Another stellar week for the top prospect of the Democratic Party in a redstate take-over.

This week, Bill White, has been caught lying to the Texas Ethics Committee. His campaign is already having problems keeping his secrets…secret. Mr. Bill’s campaign spokesman admitted he received $83,000 from a “real estate partnership” in 2009 and it was reported on his income tax return, one slight problem, the income was oddly omitted from his Personal Finiancal Statement to the Texas Ethics Commission.

It is also interesting that this is already the second time that hidden payments have been found, also while Mayor of Houston, he received 2.6 million from a company under congressional investigation.

NOW, in an effort to deflect from this, he is flailing around like a feather, now saying that Governor Perry should get politics out of the Texas State Board of Education, by injecting politics into the Texas school system. Another slight problem, is that apparently Mr. Bill does not know that the Board of Education in Texas is elected independently and the Governor does not control it’s decision.

Another week of Bill White on the offense…FAIL.
