Sure, it’s great to find stupid expenditures and say cutting is easy. Or propose “efficiency” or “fraud” reduction. That’s nice, but no where near enough.

Budget cutting is hard. Lots of “good” programs. Lots of “deserving” people. Many politically connected groups will scream if we take away their honey wagon. Sorry – not going to fund. Entitlement payments are sacrosanct. Sorry – need to cut anyway.

Cuts must hurt, or they are not significant!
