Obama administration pays $2.5 million for Census commercial during Super Bowl.

So we are spending $2.5 million dollars so that we can feel better about the Census?
Aren’t we broke? Social Security is now broke and in the red. Story here. Moody’s just announced that the United States might lose its AAA credit rating. Link to that news story here.
HotAir covers the Census Super Bowl ad story here. I think this scene from the movie Dave sums it up for everyone. Enjoy.
Kevin Kline did a great job in that movie. I think Ben Kingsley’s role as Vice President was interesting as well. I have a few thoughts on his character in that movie. I’ll have to find the right video clip first.

craniumdude Saturday, February 13th at 7:15PM EST (link)I, like many wish to see our government and leadership spend money in a frugal way. I would prefer that census education be part of a broader public school system such as adding recycling, sustainability, energy efficiency, human anatomy (especially reproductive), civics and mandatory community service instead of spending on a super bowl ad. But let us get real here. If you wish to reach the largest broadest audience at one single time…..should you not use the most watched televised event in history? After all even Doctor Dobson, whom many on this site admire, was willing to spend almost as much in order that his message reach as broad an audience as possible.
