More “tolerance” and respect for “diversity” from the left. Full story from The News Observer here.

CHAPEL HILL — UNC-CH police released pepper spray and threatened to use a Taser on student protesters Tuesday evening when a crowd disrupted a speech by former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo opposing in-state tuition benefits to unauthorized immigrants.

Hundreds of protesters converged on Bingham Hall, shouting profanities and accusations of racism while Tancredo and the student who introduced him tried to speak. Minutes into the speech, a protester pounded a window of the classroom until the glass shattered, prompting Tancredo to flee and campus police to shut down the event.

Tancredo was brought to campus by a UNC chapter of Youth for Western Civilization, a national organization of students who oppose mass immigration, multiculturalism and affirmative action.

Does anyone have a master list of all these types of incidents?

Finrod (Diary) Wednesday, April 15th at 3:49PM EST (link)

There certainly have been enough incidents like this that there should be a master list showing exactly what liberal extremists think of free speech.

Let’s get down to brass tacks here. How much for the ape?

We are working on that now

Thinking about adding a page to The Political Class that lists all such events.

Typical and sickening

A UNC – Chapel Hill degree is worth quite a bit less today than it was yesterday.

On a serious note, I have written my HR director and asked him to carefully consider what he may be getting if he hires someone from UNC. I am also speaking to as many of my business colleagues as I can to express the same message, and let them know what is condoned in Chapel Hill.

This University is getting out of hand.

They even had a Professor standing with them to scream their protests.

They will allow all kinds of anti Americants to speak, but someone that
supports the Constitution is not allowed to speak. Does not bode well
for this fine University.

What a shame.

liberals never change

That’s the difference betweeen them and us…look at what happened today with our Tea Parties. We are not uncivilized like the left.

Was there a conspiracy to violate Rep. Tancredo's civil rights?

David123 (Diary) Wednesday, April 15th at 11:01PM EST (link)

And if so, should those people who violated Rep. Tancredo’s civil rights be charged?

Oh, and if a professor at UNC violated Rep. Tancredo’s civil rights, shouldn’t he be dismissed, regardless of whether or not he has tenure? Would a tenured professor be dismissed if he wore a white sheet to class?
