Legendary comedian and actor Jerry Lewis has died at the age of 91.
The groundbreaking performer began his path to fame as Dean Martin’s stage partner. The two entertained audiences from stage to radio. They soon became a powerhouse duo in the movies, with Lewis becoming so prominent he was known to have “unparalleled green-light power” at Paramount studios.
Lewis was well known for his frantic zaniness and distinct voice. Some of his most famous films include The Nutty Professor and The Bellboy.
The actor’s death was reported by John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal in a tweet citing a statement from the Lewis family.
Very sad to report entertainment legend #JerryLewis has died today at 9:15 a.m. at his home in Las Vegas. He was 91.

Lewis passed away at his Las Vegas home at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday morning. He is survived by his wife of 34 years and six children. His son Joseph passed away in 2009.
