HYPOCRISY: Gun Owners Among Those Who Participated In Democratic Sit-In

This week certainly had its fair share of political drama, and none was so pathetic as the Great Democratic House Sit-In of 2016.

Lawmakers sat on the House floor like Millennials searching for a safe space…in the name of what? Well, nothing, really. Zero was accomplished during their 26-hour “demonstration”. Nonetheless, we are supposed to think they are the brave ones. Guns are evil, or didn’t you know? Gun owners buy guns like the AR-15 to “do bad things”, as Senator Jean Shaheen asserted.

But what’s interesting about the epic sit-in is that the participants who stomped their feet this week consisted of more than two dozen gun owners. FOX News reports:

… it has emerged that 26 of those Democratic lawmakers are gun owners themselves.

Heat Street examined 2013 USA Today data on congressional firearm ownership, finding that in addition to the 26 gun owners, there were 12 more congressional Democrats who did not answer if they owned a firearm or not.

Here’s the full list of Democratic gun owners who participated in the sit-in:

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick

Rep. Bennie Thompson

Rep. Dina Titus

Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger

Rep. Jared Huffman

Rep. Jim Cooper

Rep. Jim Costa

Rep. John Carney

Rep. John Garamendi

Rep. Keith Ellison

Rep. Mike Thompson

Rep. Peter DeFazio

Rep. Peter Welch

Rep. Rick Nolan

Rep. Ron Kind

Rep. Steve Cohen

Rep. Tim Ryan

Sen. Gary Peters

Sen. Harry Reid

Sen. Mark Warner

Sen. Martin Heinrich

Sen. Patrick Leahy

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse

Sen. Tammy Baldwin

Sen. Tim Kaine

Sen. Tom Carper

Where were these bold crusaders’ guns during the sit-in? Were they left at their residences with no supervision? Was anyone hurt by these weapons, which they would like us to believe have minds of their own?

We may never know.
