I don't know that Ohio has had a true conservative governor in my voting lifetime. Several Republicans and Dems, but definitely not dyed in the wool conservative.

Strickland is a liberal Dem. He's in office because of the incompetence of Robert Taft.

Taft is a corrupt, moderate Rino. We had our chance to elect
Blackwell... but the GOP machinery forced the Taft family name down our throats.

Voinovich is a wishy-washy Republican. He has drifted left the longer he has been in power. His crying party over the nomination of John Bolton was an embarrassment. He's probably the most conservative on this list, but he is unreliable.

Celeste is a liberal Dem on most all issues.

The last few election cycles have been brutal. The state GOP got too wrapped up in Taft worship and they provided nothing but lukewarm support of true conservatives.

Furthermore, ex-senator Dewine and retiring senator Voinovich have tried to straddle the fence to appease their liberal comrades in D.C. The jellyfish couldn't even demonstrate strong support for the Boy Scouts when they were under assault.

Our last refuge is the Ohio State Motto... "With God all things are possible", because only God can fix Ohio.

Ohio's urban areas are not alone...

Here's Business Week's
America's Unhappiest Cities
1. Portland, OR - Democrat Mayor
2. St. Louis - Democrat Mayor
3. New Orleans - Democrat Mayor
4. Detroit - Democrat Mayor
5. Cleveland - Democrat Mayor
6. Jacksonville - Republican Mayor
7. Las Vegas - Democrat Mayor
8. Nashville - Democrat Mayor
9. Cincinnati - Democrat Mayor
10. Atlanta - Democrat Mayor

Over 90% of these cities are run by a Democrat mayor. Call it a symptom or call it the disease, there’s certainly an obvious, NEGATIVE correlation between quality of life and the policies of the Democrat party.
