He has released classified CIA memos whose release was considered wrong by most in the intelligence community including his own CIA Director yet for political expediency to satisfying those on the left who pull his strings Obama still released the memos telling only the half of the story that allows further demonizing of the Bush administration by the left. All the while endangering our security and hampering the heroic job performed by intelligence in gathering information that has kept this Nation safe since 9/11.
His foreign policy reeks of appeasement and apologies for American strength and protection which he calls , “arrogant.” He considers dialogue with rogue States and petty despots as the answer to making America, “popular,” when most of his predecessors understood that a strong stand to some of these same regimes and dictators was and is the correct course of action.
Yet his popularity numbers still remain strong, though not as mighty as his love affair with the press would make us believe. But about average for a new President at this point in his term. Though the same numbers when Americans are questioned about the direction the country is taking and the spending that he has created show a completely different picture. In fact the numbers against WHAT he is doing are consistently in the upper 60′s yet he still gets what he wants when he wants because both Houses of Congress are on his side.
He is ramrodding a government take over of GM and Chrysler while telling the American people that running a company is the last thing he wants to do yet every move he has made speaks otherwise. Many in his administration are tax cheats while he brags about how ethical his reign will be. He claims transparency yet reveals nothing except that which helps him politically. But still the Obama juggernaut continues to move seeming unstoppable in its march to Socialism in America.
So the question arises, is Barack Obama and the agenda that he is pushing stoppable ? Of course we know that a voter revolt is possible and seem very likely in the 2010 mid term election, but can we wait that long to stop the Obama juggernaut. After all at the rate he is increasing the size of government and spending to do so, the damage may be irreversible by the time January 2011 comes around and a newly elected Congress has any opportunity to hamstring Obama’s agenda.
So what can we do BEFORE cleaning house on Capitol Hill in 2010 that has any chance of slowing or even stopping the Obama juggernaut ? Is there anything we can do ? The Tea Parties and the movement that it has sparked is a beginning and should and will continue with further protests and growth but as was evidenced by his snide remarks at the Missouri Town Hall meeting last week Obama thinks little of the movement nor truly cares what the American people think. After all he is President and he knows what is best for all of us whether we like it or not.
The key to slowing down Obama or stopping him is found in the House of Representatives. Complaining to Obama by contacting the White House is great but the chance of his actually listening is slim because he is arrogant enough to think that he alone knows what is best for this Nation. The Senate is not a strong key because the Democrat majority there is greater than in the House and in 2010 only one third of the current crop is eligible for re-election.
So again the key is the House. Article II, Section 7 of the Constitution states, ” All Bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.” While Obama is ignoring many aspects of the Constitution in order to push his socialistic agenda on Americans he cannot ignore the procedures for establishing his agenda, especially since all of it involves money on an unprecedented scale.
Currently the House has a 252 to 179 Democrat advantage. But 51 of those in the Democrat majority are what are called, “Blue Dog Democrats.” Elected from more conservative districts and as such are expected by those districts to represent them accordingly. It is through those that we find the key to stopping the Obama juggernaut. So you are asking, “how do we accomplish this feat ?”
Unlike the Senate the entire House is eligible for re-election every two years. Soon every House member is going to have to face their constituency and explain and/or justify their voting record and whether they have jumped on the Obama spending and deficit band wagon or not. While Obama personally may be popular, spending and deficits are not and the majority of Americans are peeved about the debt and out of control spending that is taking place in Washington which all originates in the House.
The way to curtail and/or stop the Obama juggernaut is by putting the fear of the American people into the hearts and minds of every member of the House. Reminding them that they answer to us and we demand satisfaction and are tired of the spending and the debt they are placing at the feet of our children and grand children for generations.
We can accomplish this by crashing the e-mail servers on a daily basis. Flooding the phone lines with our calls. Sending letters through the postal service until the mound of paper in every House members office is coming out of their windows. Those who are not our specific representative will attempt to ignore us or refer us to our own representative. But if we express our anger in numbers large enough then in those back rooms where discussions take place beyond the eye of the camera, House members will begin to take notice and understand that we hold their political lives in our hands.
We proved that this could be done in 2007 as Americans in large numbers rose in opposition to the Amnesty Bill that was assured of passage. But because of the out cry of the people it failed miserably when only weeks before both Houses of Congress had the numbers to overwhelmingly pass the terrible legislation.
Many might say at this point that the Amnesty Bill was a singular moment on a singular issue which rallied the American people. Granted, but are we not faced with the singular issue of the future of our country and whether it will continue the slide to Socialism and become bankrupt in the process ?
Will the members of the House listen if we rise against Obama’s juggernaut spending and debt creation ? They may ignore us individually but they cannot ignore us collectively if we rise in mass numbers and flood their offices daily with our anger and frustration. They may not respond immediately but respond they will as they realize how disgusted and angry the American people truly are.
How will this effect Obama’s agenda ? Since all revenue legislation must originate in the House, if we rise and they are forced by our out cry to respond to , “We the people,” then Obama’s hands will be tied and his agenda will stall in the House. Especially if the Blue Dog Democrats along with Republicans feel the fear of the people. Nancy Pelosi will not have the votes needed to ram through legislation even if she tries to use the ,”resolution,” tactic which is designed to block GOP involvement on the floor of the House. She still needs the 51 Blue Dogs.
Thomas Jefferson once stated, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. ” It is time for the people to put fear once again in the hearts of those that we have hired to represent us in Washington. Fearing retribution at the polls through our vote and knowing that unless they act NOW that the true power of this Nation is rising in one voice to take back that which is Constitutionally ours in the first place. The government and the operation of that government of The United States of America.

It is not clear to me that
redneck_hippie (Diary) Sunday, May 3rd at 12:00PM EST (link)Blue Dogs are the key. However voicing our concern to representatives is crucial. Also, did you mean reconciliation instead of resolution?
Blue Dawgs in the House have no bark as only 7 voted against the budget
Mike gamecock DeVine (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 9:36AM EST (link)which included cap and trade. 13 other dems voted against the budget because it was too stingy!
But I see nothing wrong with the House strategy.
more later down thread re the Senate Dawgs that go have bark that they have already shown to stop cap and trade and the bancruptck mortgage cramdown AND on the main thing that will stop Obama

Obama, featuring the usual suspects:
redneck_hippie (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 5:14PM EST (link)One good thing about this combine is that the agenda they are driving is separating the men from the boys. Voting records are facts and pro-bailout/porkulus/budget votes will not be explained away. Once the campaign season gets going I look for a full court press on the life issue, intelligence/defense and energy to blow up in the Dems’ faces. Llike searchlights fixing an escaped inmate, they can run but they can’t hide their votes.

Heh,
redneck_hippie (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 7:26PM EST (link)The Novelty President will try and probably succeed at blaming it all on Bush. The usual suspects, however, are gonna be held accountable.
Another round of tea for the entire house! With a side of tar and feathers!
oops
Ken Taylor (Diary) Sunday, May 3rd at 1:26PM EST (link)reconsiliation… sorry for the misprint.
It is not just the Blus Dogs but all House members. The Blue Dogs are the most vulnerable as far as Democrats and re-election because they come from conservative districts and as such by voting lock stock with Obama they are going against their constituency.
But as a whole House members is we bombard them with shear numbers will stand up and take notice because they know their political life is directly in our hands. Even loyalties to Pelosi and crew are not as important as keeping the hand that elects them happy!
The issues that will stop Obama are rising unemployment and the recession and/or
Mike gamecock DeVine (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 9:38AM EST (link)the anemic recovery which won’t look like one, esp this summer as fuel prices rise and this winter when heating costs rise and people can’t afford Christmas.
The GOP must be going public on Obama’s job killing and energy price rising policies.

Ben Nelson is opposing Obama's Health Care Plan?
jonreagan (Diary) Sunday, May 3rd at 1:57PM EST (link)Relative to the Blue Dog Dems, I think it’s important to remember that the Dems had margins in both Houses similar to today’s, back in 1993 when Clinton tried to nationalize health care. People like Jim Cooper (D-Tenn)–who actually offered his own plan—opposed the Clintons, and the thing died a slow and painful death.
I stumbled on to this item on a couple of blogs when I did a search to see what Ben Nelson is up to these days:
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/05/02/ben-nelson-opposes-obama/
Needless to say, this item hasn’t been widely reported in the MSM, and I heard nothing about in on the Sunday morning talk circuit, even on FOX. Grant it, Nelson is a conservative Democrat, but it’s fairly clear that the media will be as quiet about this defection as they were happy about Arlen Specter’s.
At this point, it looks like Obama will lose on both Card Check and Cap & Trade. Should more people follow Ben Nelson’s lead and end up killing Nationalized Health Care, Obama will not only be stopped, but his administration will be in chaos.
The Senate, not the House, have already shown which has the real blue dawgs

The House is drawl and that’s all talk.
The Senate has stopped some things and promise to stop more.

Yes....I should have also mentioned the mortgage cramdown
jonreagan (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 4:37PM EST (link)To your point, Mike–the Senate stopped Barack’s mortagage relief/cramdown provision last week by a vote of 51-45. The Senate is showing (a) that they are at least scrutinizing these things, and (b) that Obama’s support is not especially critical. The Senate in 1981 rarely said no to Reagan; this one has already diss’ed Obama, on more than one occasion.
Obviously, the media will continue to downplay any division within the ranks. You really have to hunt through the blogs, and newspapers like IBD to find out what’s really happening.
John Harwood said on CNBC earlier today that the Senate has basically killed Cap and Trade. Australia killed a proposed Carbon Tax over the weekend; a spokesman for the administration there stated that it would be “unwise to pass such a tax during a recession…”
Makes me hopeful….maybe good sense is starting to prevail here, and elsewhere.
We should also vote now with our money
djemi (Diary) Sunday, May 3rd at 3:05PM EST (link)And by that I mean that we should use our purchasing power to buy products that are reliant on government money, our money, Ford, any product NOT made by GE, remove our funds from any and all BANKS that have TARP money.
It is my belief that there are plenty of small to mid size banks out there that would happily move in to the markets vacated by the larger government run banks when they go into consumer driven bankruptcy, same with GM and GE plenty of smaller competiters that would love to pick those bones.

Preserve your money if you can. Save your disposable income. Go Galt!
Consumer spending is currently being used by the Government to lie on the real state of the economy and to promote the stock market.
Regarding the banks, Yes. We must show our disapproval of the TARP-sucking banks, especially the Big 3.
Yeah I agree we need to stop trying to keep up with the Joneses
djemi (Diary) Monday, May 4th at 8:42AM EST (link)I was not saying speend spend spend, I was saying that we just have to be wise and spend it in the right place, thats all
