It's Winona Duke's group and only generates enough power for her building. Nice, huh? All that money spent and it's not going to the people but the activists.

You can't print money faster than they can make it. They just put up one huge windmill in a suburban residential area. No way you'd get zoning like that any other way.

And they have these 3 HUGE BRIGHT lights in the sky. How the heck they pulled that off I have no idea. It is nearby an a regional airport is also near a pattern for the main MSP airport. It is total sky pollution. It would have to blind a pilot if they ever flew near it. You look up into the sky at night and you see these huge beams of light. Disgusting.

Then they use up all their land for casinos and give some sob story to the county for more land for schools/housing etc... about putting a few hundred more acres of land they bought OFF the tax rolls. Of course they are free to buy land adjacent and pay taxes but that isn't good enough. They lobby to get it off the tax rolls.

In return they donate money to help build roads, Umm the roads that they alone congest with casino traffic. Roads that wouldn't need much upgrading if there were no casino. Obviously to make it easier for you to drive there and give them your money. Then they brag about how much they help out with the roads.

I doubt there is any gambling regulation either. I can imagine they have all their gaming machines computer controlled and can turn up the dial any time they want, especially w/ people using loyalty cards.

Me, I never have gambled there, only make them lose money on me on the fresh seafood buffet night once in awhile.

This is another one of those places that the refugees from the failed revolution of the '60s have hung out since then, getting fat and rich on federal grants and contracts. I spent three years as a honky dog working for the BIA trying to find $58 Million dollars they'd left lying around in rural Alaska. Made me start thinking the kind of thoughts I'd worked hard to stop thinking when I was growing up in Georgia.

now have plenty of unfettered cash from casinos and a 250 year old chip on their shoulder (not entirely of their own making). Abramoff taught them well how the corruption of DC coupled with boatloads of cash can benefit you if you are willing to spread it around.

The other side of that is that Abramoff taught the Dem's well what benefits could be derived from selling your soul to interests with boatloads of cash to spread around. The lefties also learned that lesson and are lining up Abramoffs old constituencies to reap the harvest to be had.

Tomato party, Green today, red tomorrow. Same sentiment though. They have nothing to bring to the table. The most effective campaign for cleaning things up was the crying indian back in the 70's. But, it was about cleaning up your "yard", not going back to the stone age while everyone else (China, India, Brazill,...) get to do everything they want.

for a long time. I remember seeing a show about the utter poverty some on reservations live with. The particular reservation on the show dependd on the Federal Government for their medical needs and services. They were only given enough money to keep the clinic open for about 6 months out of the year before they ran out of money, medicines, supplies and etc. I guess rationed healthcare actually started long ago on Indian Reservations. Yet the Indians have not learned that all the government wants is to take over their land. As to the windfarms on their lands, they could get a good deal on over 600 windmills from T Boone Pickens, who already found out that they don't generate enough electricity to warrant the project costs.
