What I do know is that DeVore’s fundraising has been awful – $700,000 so far in a state withunless they actually deserve it. Scozzafava was not a moderate to liberal Republican. She was a union-and-ACORN affiliated liberal who gave every sign before the election of becoming another Jim Jeffords or Linc Chafee if elected (i.e., she might well switch parties and caucus with the Democrats).

Focus on winning. Unless you’ve already maxed out to Marco Rubio, every dollar you send DeVore is a dollar that Charlie Crist thanks you for wasting.

Newt has chosen to break with us on positions and ideology in various areas. Sen. Coburn has not done so and I am unwilling to part company with him.

3) She praised Obama’s economic team.
4) She praised Graham/Kerry cooperation on cap-and-tax.

The idea that Fiorina is “something different” is simply laughable. A passing familiarity with California political history over the past 15 years reveals a landscape littered with the corpses of millionaire aspirants just like her. Remember Senator Huffington? Remember Senator Issa? Remember Governor Checchi? No? Why not?

The only one who made it through is one Arnold Schwarzenegger, and … how’d that turn out?

I have always been an admirer of your service both as a doctor and in Congress, your honor in keeping your term limit pledge in the House, your support of fiscal discipline in the House and Senate, your respect for human life. BUT, I must ask if your are willing to throw away all of the goodwill you have generated among the voters of Oklahoma and contributors from other States by endorsing Carly Fiorina (possible RINO after seeing who is endorsing her, by these shall ye know her) over Chuck Devore (a true RED State conservative) BEFORE the primary election in California. Let the people of California decide in the primary election first.

Newt has gone from a hero of the American Conservative movement, ranking just under Ronaldo Magnus to pariah in one short year after his support of the global warming baloney, DeDe Scarrafazzo, etc. I hope you are not Scarrafazzo’d over this. Seeing your good name lumped in with all those Republican RINO’s endorsing Fiorina is sickening AND not good for your excellant (until today) reputation.

NOW is the time to revoke your support of this Fiorina endorsement, apologize and get it behind you! Tell everyone you will wait until the voters in California decide BEFORE you make an endorsement. AND PLEASE, whatever you do stay out of the Florida senate primary until the voters have decided wether they prefer that Rino Crist over Rubio! That would be too much even after all the good you have done in the past.

By the way, if you liked Larry Elder — the DC folks backing Fiorina, particularly in the NRSC, are apparently the ones who dissuaded him from running.

I’ll simply note this: back when Ben, Mike and I co-founded RedState in 2004, the first two candidates we fundraised for were Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn.

Five years later, I don’t regret it — they’re both conservative warriors, even if one is reacting to some DC-specific imperatives of late. But if the Lord can only reproach us with one mistake at the end, we’ll count ourselves blessed.
