that moment when he can manufacture a lie to cover a missile attack and call it “deterrence” for “self-defense.” His spouting about self defense convinces me he is going to do the deed. It is not coincidence that the NoKors are ramping up at just the time that Obama is dismantling our missile defense capability.

Obama’s actions have consequences and Americans need to connect the dots.

Great article, Josh. All those defending our Missile Defense are sounding much-needed Churchillian alarms. I shudder to think how many years will go by before our government is allowed to react appropriately.

the military’s systems are, and I suspect they ain’t talking. Nevertheless, a US reaction would require a decision and I don’t see a decision being made either timely or correctly in this Administration.

You’re right that involving a big power is potentially an end game scenario, but the big powers have something to lose, the psychostates don’t, or at least don’t care.

Either Russia or China may very well feel that this is the time to launch a first-strike on the U.S. provided they can get it ‘fronted’ by NK and/or Iran. (E.G. A NK EMP takes down a lot of U.S. defenses, leaving us far more open to a first strike from a major power.)

While I don’t think it’s a high probability, these days I don’t think it can be ruled out.

If you are inclined to get rid of the U.S. (at least as a military power) for good, now would be the time to do it.

that the great danger to the US and our allies is a EMP burst over the US and Canada. Even if the NorKor missiles can’t hit a particular target reliably, all they have to do is lift the nuke and detonate it and we’re in the early 19th Century for some time. No consumer product that uses solid state electronics will survive an EMP burst, and that’s just about everything we use these days, including our cars and truck and such.

The real nightmare is a coordinated attack by North Korea on the US with an EMP burst and an Iranian attack on Israel and US assets in the ME. Fait accompli!
