…in the use of a little hyperbole. A metaphor or 2? Would that Palin and others in the GOP hierarchy travel around the nation and get in touch with the real Base. And a political rally doesn’t cut it. This would be something she’d have to impose on herself since there is no real bootcamp. You see the GOP elites prefer to stay detached and at arms length or better from the Base. Now granted, Sarah is a bit better than most gop politicians but far from where she needs to be. DD

…is that as soon as GOP politicians get elected, they seem to forget and ignore those that elected them. They’re distracted by special interests, NGO’s and foreign governments. The voting Base is forgotten until election time comes around again. So far, Sarah hasn’t shown me anything that would lead me to believe that she’d be any different. DD

I posted this somewhere here;

The article only mentions Sister Sarah once;
“The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, planned to meet in Washington this weekend with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other senators to press for her state’s share of the package.”
It doesn’t say if she is for ,or against the pokulas.
A reason could be;
“For governors, it’s free money — they get the benefits and they don’t have to pay the costs of raising the revenues,” Frazier said.

By the same reasoning, I could say that Mrs. Palin IS running for the Presidency in 2012 by using this article from the same person writer..

…a conservative? Would a conservative go to Washington DC as Gov Palin did last weekend for the purpose lobbying Mitch McConnell to pass the Obama SPlan? Undermining the united House Republicans? Would a conservative pass the most radical greenie environmental plan in her state surpassing that of California? Not the direction that this conservative wants to see the GOP move in. Here:

She’s not asking for handouts. But if someone throws a potfull of money at her state, she’d be an absolute idiot to refuse it. I’d come closer to becoming “lukewarm” about her if she was dumb enough to not take it.

have said that they would refuse to accept the money? Not even Sanford, who has been the most outspoken critic of the stimulus among all the governors.

Palin simply wants energy and defense projects in her state to be funded IF the stimulus is passed. All of those projects are in the national interest, and the pipeline project, which Alaska has already put up $500 million of its own money for, is a good investment for Uncle Sam. When completed, it will bring cheaper natural gas to the lower 48 than the LNG we are currently importing from foreign suppliers.

Don’t be putting too much stock in the AP, btw. Their record of truth and accuracy isn’t exactly spotless.

even if her official position on it is no. As the below link shows, she petitioned Congress for money from the package to come to her state, when IMO she should refuse to accept the funding. That’s why I’m lukewarm about her. I’ll still vote for her, but this dampens my excitement about her.

once Bobby Jindal is perceived to be a sufficient threat, the media running dogs will, at the command of their LSD masters, dig up more dirt on the poor guy and his family than you could have thought was possible. The Palin pick was such a surprise to them that they had to drop the oppo books they were building on Mitt, Cantor, Pawlenty and the others and rush to Alaska to start sniffing around.

They will investigate everyone Jindal has ever even remotely known in his life, and they will be looking for those among them who ever got crosswise with Bobby over anything. The larger the axe someone has to grind, the more the media hounds will pay under the table for the dirt. The less dirt they are able to dig up on him… the more stuff they will simply make up. It will be planted on the nutroots blogs to begin with, and then work its way “up” to CNN and MSDNC. Then the rest of the alphabets, the NY Slimes, etc. will pile on.

They will literally try to destroy Jindal. God help his wife, kids and any other relatives, too.
