and they'll have the complicity of the three big Alaska producers. The only effect that throwing a bunch of Alaska Gas on the market will have is to drive down the price of the gas already on the market. The producers can make money without spending money with the status quo. Any attempt to bring Alaska gas to market will cost somebody many tens of billions of dollars and then drive down the price of the gas. That's the reason the majors wouldn't propose when Palin went out and made the deal with TransCanada, a deal that not everyone in Alaska is in love with.

Then, assuming somebody wants to build a line, it has to go over federal land, so the Obamunists can either withhold the permit or make the conditions unacceptably onerous, the tactic they tried with TAPS.

She's got all the marbles, or in this case, the natural gas - in both conventional and frozen hydrate form.

The greens are going to do everything they can to blcok coal, and there's no great love on the left for building new nuclear reactors. Heating oil is dirty and expensive.

"Who they gonna call?" They can either call her now or call her later. but either way, they're going to have to call her.

Thus they will either 1) stiff her on the energy development, the country be dam++d to make her look ineffective, or 2) they will cut a deal with her political opponents that will marginalize her.
