More anonymous sources grumbling about Sarah

From the we-haven’t-hit-Palin-enough CNN News Ticker:

Some Republican governors tell CNN they were not particularly happy with the way the Republican Governors Association press conference was executed Thursday, saying that they agreed to go as a show of GOP governors’ unity — but they ended up feeling like silent Palin supporters, since it was clearly a press conference called for her.

The GOP governors spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity.

One called it awkward: “I’m sure you could see it on some of our faces.”

Another Republican governor eyeing a presidential run in 2012 told CNN the event was “odd” and “weird,” and said it “unfortunately sent a message that she was the de facto leader of the party.”

Let me get this straight…

The press didn’t ask questions of any other governor except Palin, yet it’s Sarah’s fault?

She reiterated that the GOP governors are a team, yet it’s Sarah’s fault?

She made her opening remarks at the press conference, she stepped back from the microphone, saying they were all open for questions, yet it’s Sarah’s fault?

Gov. Perry ended the press conference after only four questions (he later explained that was done because of time constraints), yet it’s Sarah’s fault?

Chalk up another one to the drive-by media, in this case CNN, which could find dissension in a one-man parade if it suits their purposes.

Once again Gov. Palin is being attacked, and again by nameless persons whose brickbats the drive-bys are only too happy to boost into orbit.

The breathless CNN blog entry continues:

There has been palpable tension among some GOP governors gathered in Miami that Palin has been sucking up all the media oxygen.

In an interview with CNN, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour shrugged off that suggestion.

“That’s just somebody running down a rabbit trail. There’s plenty of oxygen here,” he said.

Good for Gov. Barbour, who always keeps his common sense about him, even when others are losing their mud.

Allah says the Republican governors, just like the McCain campaign, can’t even manage to show enough competence to stay on message for a couple of days. He’s right.

This GOP rebuild job is going to take more time than we thought…

I say let’s find out who these weasels are and add their names to Operation Leper. I can’t stand this crap anymore. What’s wrong with this party when all we do is criticize the best and brightest among us?

I want to know who this leper is. Is it Charlie Crist? News flash Chuck, you ain’t never gonna be President. Your cut from the same moderate, let’s play footsie with the Dems so they like us cloth as McCain.

Was it Pawlenty? Who was it?

These “unnamed sources” got no balls.

If this is what our party is made up of. If this is what we’ve become. If this is the future of our party. Then it’s time for conservatives to either oust them, or let them have the party and drown in their own moderate, bipartisan cesspool.

I started a petition to ask the Republican governors to, you know, quite stabbing each other in the back. It reads:

We the undersigned protest those unnamed governors who anonymously criticized Governor Sarah Palin while speaking to the press after the Republican Governors Association press conference.

Criticizing Governor Palin in this manner reflects poorly on all Republicans and threatens to cripple the party as we undertake to move forward after the 2008 election. Anyone choosing to criticize another anonymously marks him or herself as both cowardly and petty, as well as more interested in self-aggrandizement than in advancing the Republican platform and conservative principles. Furthermore, it calls into question their fitness to serve in higher office should they choose to seek it.

Thank you for your time. We respectfully call on you to stand together in unity and mutual support as it falls upon you to lead the nation in advancing the ideals of the Republican party and conservatism.

I don’t believe half the crap the reporters are saying. I feel the reporters are making most of it up for ratings, or they are no verifying who is saying what. They are eager for dirt, i should call up anonymously and tell a whopper and see it explode as the truth, and then expose them for their stupidity.
