Joe Biden, who has been getting face time on the back of milk cartons lately, has succeeded in sending a message to Capitol Hill. Biden’s authority to do this stems from Article One of the Constitution which establishes the executive branch or something like that. Biden harkened back to FDR’s ability to use television as a way to “fight the economy.” Biden also mentioned that by getting a new set of hair plugs, he is helping out the economy and he of course still travels to “work” on taxpayer funded Amtrak from his home in “Scranton.” It wasn’t immediately clear if the words Biden used were his own.
Biden on Economy … “we’re at war”:
Vice-president-elect Joe Biden likened the country’s economic crisis to the attacks of 9/11 Monday in a private meeting on Capitol Hill.
“We’re at war,” Biden told congressional leaders of both parties during their sit-down with Barack Obama in the Capitol, according to two sources familiar with the exchange.
It’s not the first time the vice-president-elect has used stark language to underscore the perilous state of the economy. In an interview last month on ABC’s “This Week,” Biden said that a stimulus package was needed to keep the economy from “absolutely tanking.”
Typical rhetoric from the democrats, Rham Emanuel is on the record stating that we can’t let a crisis go to waste. Just setting up the Congress and the American public to “get behind” Obama has he fights the recession from his oval office politburo desk.
Democrats like to fight things like “the economy”, George Bush and “global warming” … but Al-Qaeda? Not so much

I hear Joe was "Not Spotted" at a Movie Theater
Patricia_C (Diary) Tuesday, January 6th at 2:17PM EST (link)Employees at the Regal Brandywine Cinemas say the vice president-elect and his wife, Jill, tried to attend the 7:45 showing of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. One of the Associate Managers, Inshirah Muhamut, said she she saw what appeared to be a Secret Service agent coming her way as she closed her window for the sold out show.
The man asked her about tickets for the movie and left and a few minutes after that, Joe and his wife came into the lobby.
While Jill (doubling as Mr. Biden’s personal assistant) inquired about other shows Joe (obviously TOO important to be seen doing such trivial things as speaking to someone who isn’t as important as HE is) stood about five feet away in the company of his secret service men (whose presence made even more clear Joe’s said level of importance).
In spite of his greatest efforts to “be seen” in the crowded movie theater lobby(even with the nifty showing of his secret service men), no one (other than the Associate Manager) appeared to notice Joe was there. The other movie house employees said “nobody mobbed Biden or called his name or asked for an autograph.”
“It didn’t seem many people recognized him,” said employee Becky Gingrich, 21. “Honestly, I think people were just too wrapped up in themselves to notice.”
After mulling over alternative movie options (and waiting an embarrassingly long – yet unproductive amount of time for someone to notice him… mob him…. say his name… or even ask for his autograph…), Joe (who was equally wrapped up in himself) and his wife left (with Joe probably dragging his wife and his ego to some other theater where the citizens of his home-town of Deleware would be given another chance to pay him his rightful homage).
