In this country, the gay marriage issue has become passé. The discussion has moved on to other fronts, such as 46-year-old Columbia University Professor David Epstein’s alleged sexual relationship with his 24-year-old daughter.

Since the beginning of July, the top news headlines have been all Michael Jackson. In second place is Governor Sarah Palin. On July 3rd, Governor Palin announced she will be stepping down as Governor of Alaska effective the end of July. Speculation has been rampant, with most news media outlets and political pundits jumping on the band wagon to quickly criticize her decision and spin her announcement as a political epitaph.

Of course, Governor Palin supporters know the real reason for her resignation. She’s running for President in 2012. As self proclaimed campaign advisor to the “Palin for President” campaign, I suggest she announce her run for the presidency from the same Caterpillar plant in East Peoria, IL made famous by Barrack Obama. She should ask those assembled, “How’s that stimulus working for ya?’

From there she should head over to Tiergarten Park in Berlin, Germany. The same Tiergarten Park made famous by Barrack Obama. There she should announce that America will not kowtow to two-bit dictators like Hugo Chaves, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Castro Twins, or Vladimir Putin. America is again on the march for freedom, liberty, and justice for all.

On her return to America, she should hold rallies in states with the highest unemployment. Most of those states would be blue states. She should ask one simple question at these rallies; “Are you better off today then you were six months ago?” Time will always march on, but the answer to this question will never change as long as Democrats control Congress.

At some point she should move to Iowa, the same Iowa made famous by Barrack Obama. She should help Iowa Republicans take back the state in 2010. This would propel her into the national spotlight and certify her as the “front runner” in Republican circles. Her quest for the Republican nomination in 2012 would be assured

Along with all the speculation, I sense a tinge of fear as the political elite talk her down. They know if she decides to run she could win big in 2012, sending shock waves through Washington’s political establishment. She could also propel conservative Republicans back into the majority.

I’m angry that terrorists in Afghanistan now have the right to remain silent and the right to a court appointed attorney. I’m also angry that the Obama administration is spending trillions of dollars we don’t have.
