My name is John Fleming and I am running for Congress in Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District. We are the last congressional race in the country. Voters go to the polls this Saturday, December 6, and I am asking each of you to join my campaign and help start the movement to take back the House. I am a man of conviction, drive and the desire to uphold America’s Constitution. I want to go to Washington with a single purpose: to represent the people as a servant leader.
I am a true social and fiscal conservative. Unlike many so-called politicians today, I am standing firm on my conservative values and traditions. My top priority is helping our economy by supporting tax cuts and drilling to create American jobs.
I am endorsed by Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator David Vitter, Representative Charles Boustany, Representative Steve Scalise, Representative Rodney Alexander and Representative Jim McCrery.
I am also endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, Gun Owners of America and has received an A rating from the NRA. I have signed the ATR’s “No New Tax” pledge and have gained the support of Eagle Forum for my willingness to fight for the unborn.
I have been married to my wife, Cindy, for 29 years and am the father of four adult children. My background as a Medical Officer in the United States Navy laid a path for my future small business medical practice. My background as a family physician awarded him the Louisiana Family Doctor of the Year in 2007.
I have served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and School Department Director at First Baptist of Minden. My medical practice, which is a small business, and several non-medical businesses that I own provide over 500 jobs to Louisianians.
I am facing a liberal Democrat endorsed by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel and Steny Hoyer. This election is the start of us taking back the House and is critical to moving Congress back to the center from left leaning leadership intent on pushing through a liberal agenda.
I am asking for your help today. Join my campaign. Visit my website and if you agree with my vision and values, please consider making a donation at www.flemingforcongress.com.
Thank you and God Bless!

Any polling out of this district?
St_Louis_Conservative (Diary) Wednesday, December 3rd at 7:58PM EST (link)All I’ve seen out of the 4th is a Democrat poll that showed Carmouche up by 10 pts.
I’d be interested to see the turnout model. I’m thinking the Dem will need a big African-American turnout. I think McCain won this district by 66%, so this should be winnable. I’m a little uneasy about the fact that there aren’t polls showing Fleming with a lead.
Of course, this being a special run-off, it comes down to turnout. The LA GOP better turnout their voters in a big way. Too bad Sarah Palin isn’t coming down there!

McCain Got Around 60%
DONTREADONME (Diary) Wednesday, December 3rd at 8:38PM EST (link)I just ran through the numbers from the Secretary of State of LA and it looks like district 4 parishes Mccain got about 60% of the vote ignoring the lesser parties; however, these numbers are straight and do not take into account splits in the parishes parced out into districts.
John Flemming needs support regardless of the numbers because if you break down the number of votes the Democrats had more votes than the Republicans. Once again I am a VA resident and I am not familiar with LA districts and the election process for House members.

I’ve been trying to find SOMETHING about this race and have come up with Dr. Fleming’s post here. A few old articles from just past the election and even fewer message boards.
But I did find Gov. Jindal’s endorsement of Dr. Fleming:
And the DUmmies had this:
Don’t Waste Your Money
The last RCP polling is confusing and only as recent circa November 20th.
However, Dr. Fleming has very compelling reasons to support him and I found these interview results very helpful in understanding his stance. From the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce you’ll find a series of written answers that expound his beliefs.
Let’s get him elected folks.

servant leader
hogiewan Wednesday, December 3rd at 9:11PM EST (link)Those are magic words for me. If he means them, it’s definitely a reason to support him.
What do people here think about Senator Vitter?
leftylurker (Diary) Wednesday, December 3rd at 9:15PM EST (link)I only know the MSM narrative on him, and I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing.
Sir,
Jim Tomasik (Diary) Wednesday, December 3rd at 9:35PM EST (link)I see you support the ‘concept’ of the FairTax.
Will you cosponsor the FairTax Act Bill HR-25 as it is written?
Thanks in advance.
Polls on LA
dld1717 (Diary) Wednesday, December 3rd at 10:32PM EST (link)Via lapolitics
An independent poll and a candidate’s poll released this week both show a statistical tie between Democrat Paul Carmouche and Republican John Fleming.
Roll Call, the Washington political paper, commissioned Survey USA to do an automated poll of 648 likely voters on Nov. 10-11, which showed Fleming ahead, 47-45 percent. The poll’s margin of error was 4 percent.
That jibes with a Public Opinion Strategies poll done for Fleming, which showed him leading 43-42 percent.
Those surveys differ from a Kitchens Group poll of 400 voters done for Carmouche on Nov. 18-19, putting him up 48-37 percent.
