If you are a Constitutionalist, and you believe in the original intent of the words written in the Constitution, the Left for the past few decades has been trying to tell you that the document is outdated and that it has to be interpreted as a living document to still be relevant. It is an annoying argument because it makes something so simple as the meaning of words into an abstract interpretive dance where anything is possible.

So then it only makes sense that these very same people who, let’s face it, have no regard for the Constitution or what it’s stood for since the founding of our country would now say Donald Trump violates it at every turn.

“We are facing a Constitutional crisis the likes of which we have never seen before!” says a group of people who fully supported Barack Obama’s unconstitutional “recess” appointments to the National Labor Relations Board – appointments that earned Obama a verbal spanking from the Supreme Court in a 9-0 decision.

These are the very same people who believe if you take a left before crossing a bridge, take two rights and another left that you can find a right to murder children in the womb. They’d like us to believe that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is staging a coup by firing the Director of the FBI, a position that serves at the pleasure of the chief executive (the president mentioned above).

It is impossible to take seriously these people who have called the Constitution a relic of a bygone era when they say that the Constitution is under attack.

These are the facts:

• James Comey, as mentioned, served as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the pleasure of the President of the United States.
• If the President of the United States were Hillary Clinton, they would have no problems with her firing James Comey.
• It would be more scandalous had Clinton done so because unlike Trump, she was directly under investigation by the FBI.

Donald Trump, contrary to popular belief, is not under investigation. The investigation is into what exactly Russia’s part in the 2016 election was. The only persons of interest that we know of are Paul Manafort and Mike Flynn.

Every Democrat in Washington D.C. wanted Comey fired the moment he sent that letter to Congress, and the media got a hold of it. They wanted him gone in the following months because they were convinced he ruined Hillary’s chances of winning and handed Donald Trump the presidency.

But, Donald Trump is president, and every Democrat in Washington has decided that every time he takes a breath, he is violating the very same Constitution they have been trying to work around for decades.

The Constitution limits the powers of government. The Founders wrote a document that told the government what it cannot do. The Democrats do not like that because they want the government to do everything — just so long as they are in charge.

This ridiculous double-standard is why the Democrats have kept losing. They consistently blow their wads on the outrage of the minute, and people have stopped listening because the Democrats have now become the party of “No you won’t” instead of “Yes we will.”

Their sudden cries of “Constitutional crisis!” should at best be mocked. Because we know that the moment they get back in power, they’ll go right back to trying to ignore it.
