Police in Fresno, California, are now saying that the shooting today that took the lives of three Americans is not “connected to” terrorism. The Associate Press (who, by the way, has done a stellar job with this story so far) is reporting the development.
BREAKING: Fresno police chief: Shooting not connected to terrorism; suspect wanted to kill as many people as possible.
— The Associated Press (@AP) April 19, 2017
The statement comes after multiple reports that the shooter, Kori Muhammad, shouted “allahu ackbar” before being taken into custody. A video floating around social media also showed Muhammad speaking in Arabic before telling “white skunks” their time was up.
Fresno police earlier in the day said they would be working with the FBI to determine any possible terrorism connection.
