So Fox runs this ad in the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post and the state-run media goes apoplectic. Hmm…I don’t see anything wrong with this ad except that it might just be the first honest one to be in print in decades.
But Fox’s competitors don’t agree.
ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider described the ad as “outrageous and false.” NBC spokeswoman Lauren Kapp said that “the facts . . . prove it wrong.” CNN spokeswoman Edie Emery called the ad “blatantly false.”
And, according to the Huffington Post Fox News Newspaper Ad Makes False Claims About Tea Party Coverage. Well, that pretty much settles it; Fox is dead wrong and somehow, we all must have missed CNN, NBC, ABC, and MSNBC’s hourly updates on the Tea Party. Funny, whenever I turned to those stations all I saw was Obama’s ugly mug. My TV must be on the fritz.
As long as we are whining over “blatantly false” ads, I’d like to offer up a few that I think fit the bill.
First, this little dandy from California is the front-runner in the Democrat’s favorite game of Race-Baiting for Health Care.

Next up is one from Greenpeace. Aside from the obvious question, “How did they calculate that 90 year number?”, to my knowledge, you can’t actually grow a box of Kleenex, but I could be mistaken.
And we all know this ad is patently untrue. Since when do Democrats require people to register to vote?

And this little gem from the World Health Organization. Making the world smoke free while making abortions safer. Hard to argue with the logic chain going on here.

And lastly, in what might be the biggest lie in the history of the advertising industry, I give you this:

A problem of semantics and specifics, really. If the headline had read...
Chemical Sam (Diary) Friday, September 18th at 8:48PM EST (link)“How did ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN miss THE SIGNIFICANCE OF this story?”, there wouldn’t have been any reasonable reply.
Of course they covered it – with a view to villify, mock, and demean these very same people. I’ll never forget CNN’s original headline, presumably the most moderate of the MSM outlets. On April 15, they called it the Tax Day Tirade, and gave it a15 second spot. That was it.
Thereupon I went out among people in my first demonstration, over a thousand of them, and all I saw were people who were worried, and outraged at the 787 billion they had just been saddled with, along with all the other entitlements and punitive taxation waiting in the wings. And we were called wacko, nutjobs, unpatriotic, unAmerican.
So, they irriefutibly missed the significance of it.
Criterion Chemical was in the black for FY2010!
Not bad considering the forces arrayed against small business these days.

Jaimo Friday, September 18th at 11:35PM EST (link)When I showed up to my usual Friday bowling night, I told the people that I had missed last Friday because I was in DC for the Tax Protest march. No one had a clue what I was talking about, and the one conservative there told me he hadn’t heard about it until the day after when he happened upon Fox News.
So all these people watching regular “fringe” media heard nothing, saw nothing and had absolutely no frame of reference to what it was all about.
Shocking.

What remains of the print media wishes they had anyone on their stafs not so blinded by their stupidity of ideolgy that they could find the same facts and reveal them. The print media, with the exception of about 10% is dead, intellectually. They can only muster enough energy to attack him personally.

Burying the Story
lukematthews (Diary) Saturday, September 19th at 1:36PM EST (link)The Democratic Party-run media are just smarting from the whipping they’re getting in the ratings and ‘scoop’ categories. They have prostrated themselves before this administration and Congress and cannot bear their duplicity revealed. The ridiculous semantic parsing engaged in by them is a prime example of their inability to report the news. They are so clogged with specificity, they cannot see the forest for the trees. Covering for the Great Prevaricator engages all their resources. Besides, they cannot shake off the Kool Aid hangover that has pervaded their profession.
They are loathe to admit, conservative and independants are abandoning them in droves.
What Lib "news" outlets don't realize

MSM?
UpLateAgain (Diary) Monday, September 21st at 11:26AM EST (link)Beck’s right. We shouldn’t call them the Main Stream Media any longer. It’s not an official title and it no longer fits. Beck’s ‘Fringe Media’ is good. I also like ‘Insignificant Media’ (a lot of syllables, sure, but reduced to simply ‘IM’ for blogging purposes). IM can also stand for ‘Irrelevant Media’. I think I like IM.

I would guess that it’s after most American defect from their audience. What is the best way to make that happen? Is it by marginalizing them? If so, what is the best way to do that?
I think that we really need an over-arching strategy before we get the cute nicknames into the lexicon.
