College Professor Assigns Students Bizarre Anti-Trump Project

In the early days of Twitter, many of us had a lot of fun seeing how far you could push someone before they’d block you. Getting blocked by clowns like Alec Baldwin or psychotics like Keith Olbermann was once something we advertised in our Twitter bios. Today, with attacks coming from all sides Twitter has become such a free-for-all that getting blocked seems passé. Some unnamed professor at the University of Tennessee Chatanooga doesn’t think so though. He’s so desparate for Trump to block him that he’s assigning his students the job of making it happen.

According to a Daily Mail report, the unnamed teacher at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) sent an email to his students last week asking them to mail him twitter messages that he would send to @realDonaldTrump — the US president’s official Twitter. He also asked them to make the tweet highly offending so that the Republican leader is forced to block him.

He added that whoever’s message gets him blocked by the president will win extra credits.

“All. Here are the details of the Twitter Extra Credit assignment: Simply write a tweet for @realDonaldTrump and email it to me. It may not contain profanity or personal threats,” the message by the professor to his students read.

“I’ll post them from my Twitter account. If your tweet successfully gets my account blocked by @realDonaldTrump, you will receive five points on your final grade and a free absence.

Five points on a final grade is huge. A free absence though? I thought all absences were free in college, but that’s beside the point.

Basically we have a professor who is offering substantial course credit to students who can gin up verbal attacks on the President. This is another one of those situations where it’s fun to imagine if someone had done this to Obama. Jobs would have been lost. Chris Matthews leg tingles would have turned to full incontinence. Al Sharpton would have been marching somewhere with his bull horn. The word of the day would have been “raaaaaaciiiiist.”

Maybe this professor is making the offer as a joke. He may realize that the chances of him getting blocked by POTUS are probably pretty slim, but who knows? He might very well think his students can succeed where he has thus far failed. Either way, the obsession with getting blocked is just so 2009.
