Congressman John Conyers has been hospitalized for a “stress-related” illness. I guess being exposed as a creepy sexual predator, abusive employer, and power-drunk politician can cause a man to feel stress.

Family spokesperson Sam Riddle confirmed Thursday morning that the 88-year-old Conyers is seeking treatment at a local hospital. Riddle declined to detail exactly what Conyers is suffering from, but reports indicate it is stress-related.

“Monica Conyers, Mrs. Conyers, is by his side and we just ask, really the nation, to pray for this Congressman that has done so much for the nation,” said Riddle.

Conyers, the longest-serving member of the U.S. House, is currently embroiled in a scandal after being accused of sexual misconduct by several former female staff members.

The embattled Congressman is being comforted by his criminal wife.

I’m cynical enough about all the ridiculous political games and tribal strategies that I’m not even convinced that this “illness” is real. Part of me thinks it could just be a sympathy ploy. I’m an old man and I can’t handle the pressure of this politically motivated witch hunt.

Hearing that an 88-year-old man is in the hospital should elicit sympathy. This only gives me skepticism. The corruption of our government is bad for the soul.
