Tillerson Responds to Speculation that He Is Planning to Quit

Earlier in the week rumors were flying about how various administration officials would react to President Trump’s tweets denigrating his Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Some were saying Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was talking about pushing the eject button.

Tillerson squashed that rumor today.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Wednesday that he was “not going anywhere,” denying news reports that he was considering leaving his post.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Tillerson told reporters at the State Department. Asked how long he would stay on, Tillerson turned and smiled, saying, “As long as the president lets me.”

Asked about his relationship with President Donald Trump, Tillerson said simply, “Good.”

I guess the rumors were just more fake news.
