I just got a link to the new McCain-Palin site dedicated ro relief for the states effected by Gustav. I think that the refocus of the convention was in the end the best choice in a very difficult situation. Thankfully Gustav was handled effectively by Jindal.

What do you think: good idea or let’s get back to business?

In just scanning a few lib sites, a lot of them are mocking Gov. Palin for her anti-contraception views and for her abstinence only education views.

I have googled and searched for an actual quote or story about what her official stance is or if she has even taken one. I know she is pro-life, but does anyone know where I can find her position on this?

I work for non-profit, disaster service organization. Part of my job is tracking storms and potential natural disasters where relief will be needed. So it is with great interest that I am watching to see what Tropical Storm/Hurricane Gustav will do in the next few days. I think that if it hits the Gulf Coast Sunday/Monday/Tuesday then the GOP Convention becomes a tool in the argument of Republican incompetance (“They continue partying while real Americans suffer.”).

So does anyone know if there is a plan to deal with this kind of situation? Gov Jindal has pre-emptively declared a state of emergency, but he is scheduled to speak on Wednesday. So anyone know what our plan is or any suggestions for what we should do?
