Assemblyman Chuck DeVore has seen his support in CA strengthen among Republicans as Fiorina’s support has decreased.  A recent field poll shows DeVore only 1 pt behind Fiorina, 21-20% among Republicans.  This same poll had Fiorina previously ahead by 12 pts.  While a lot of work remains to be done against both Fiorina and Boxer, the numbers are very promising showing that money and name recognition will not automatically carry Carly to the nomination.  A true conservative, can ideed win again.

Chuck DeVore has made over 160 campaign stops in California proving he is working hard to earn the votes of Californians.

Sent from the DeVore campaign communications team today.

“The numbers in today’s Field Poll affirm trends we’ve been aware of throughout the year: Chuck DeVore’s support continues to deepen and grow, Carly Fiorina’s support continues to drop — by nearly a third since the last Field Poll in March — and Barbara Boxer continues to be among the most vulnerable Democrats in the United States Senate.

“When Chuck DeVore announced his candidacy in November 2008, he was a comparatively unknown fiscal-conservative Assemblyman from Orange County, California. Less than a year later, he is at polling parity with a well-known multimillionaire with over a decade of national-press exposure to her credit. When this campaign began, conventional wisdom said that Carly Fiorina was better known, better against Boxer, better able to field a strong campaign team, and better able to unify the party.

“All those beliefs are now discredited by the lackluster performance of the Fiorina ‘exploratory’ campaign.

“Chuck DeVore has been out with the people of California for months, driving himself from community to community, speaking with them, listening to them, and promising to fight for them. He has been to nearly two hundred campaign events and spoken directly with thousands of Californians. That’s one of many reasons his polling parity with Fiorina is such bad news for her. Thousands of Chuck’s supporters are supporters because they have seen and spoken with him — and that’s why his numbers steadily rise. By contrast, Carly Fiorina has avoided speaking directly to Republicans, except in rare, private, and stage-managed appearances — and the occasional online failure of national renown. That’s why her numbers steadily drop.

“In other words, the difference between DeVore’s support and Fiorina’s is the difference between a strong, deep, and growing movement — and a shallow, media-driven, and purchased ephemera. As this campaign continues, Republicans interested in defeating Barbara Boxer will find the choice between the two increasingly easy.”

Quoting one of our volunteer leaders, “It’s easy when you are working for the HARDEST working man or woman in politics.” I could not agree more.

The Conservative Senate Fund (Senator Jim DeMint’s PAC) is organizing a poll for the CA Senate race. Please take a moment to log in and support Chuck DeVore.

I’m so proud to be volunteering for this man. He reminds me of Fred Thompson, with the “fire in the belly” to sprint through the finish line!

Help retire Barbara Boxer once and for all! Chuck DeVore for Senate!

Fellow Red State fans… a couple of years back I found my way to Red State while volunteering for the Fred Thompson campaign.  We all know how that worked out, but no worries… on a personal level it was my first real experience with grassroots politics.  Fred may not have done so well, but he motivated me to get off my rear and contribute.  A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege to run a 500 person event here in Northern California, billed as a GOP Unity event… naturally as the head of the event, I brought in speakers who I thought can help the GOP unite, but unite behind strong, conservative principles and not folks who think our party needs to become more like the Democrats.  Chuck DeVore was one of our speakers, and he hit a grand slam.

I was first turned on to Assemblyman Chuck DeVore during the Thompson campaign as he was one of our CA state chairs.  Needless to say, he stood for the same values that attracted me to Senator Thompson, a strong national defense, sound fiscal conservatism, an outstanding pro-family record, strong support of 2nd Amendment rights and fierce advocacy for nuclear power and utilizing our domestic oil supply.

As a devout conservative I’m thrilled to be back volunteering on behalf of a great conservative candidate for US Senate.  Equally as exciting, is the opportunity to retire Barbara Boxer (excuse me, Senator Barbara Boxer), once and for all.

I’m thrilled to be volunteering as his Bay Area (CA) director but we need help.  If you are interested in volunteering for this campaign and live anywhere in CA, please email me at jascalese@yahoo.com.  If in the Bay Area I will get you started right away, anywhere else in CA we will find the right contact for you.

Also, July 31, today is a key fund raising deadline for this race. If you have a few dollars you can spare, please visit my personal donation page for Chuck DeVore.  Let’s face it, knocking Boxer out of the Senate will have a positive impact on our entire country, this is not just a California issue!

Thank you all for your support and God Bless you.

Hollywood joins the furor over gay marriage ban

Commentary on AP article

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081107/apenmo/gaymarriagecelebrities

Yes, as is often the case, I think I will change my mind now that these Hollywood supertars disagree with me. Removing myself from the very emotional debate about gay marriage as I know it is a very personal issue, I’m facinated to see how many people fail to recognize that this was not a decision by the state of CA but by the citizens who excercised their right to vote on this proposition for the 2nd time. We kept hearing about the 30 million spent from those outside the state, are you trying to tell me the “No on 8″ folks didn’t spend any money? Interesting, while President-Elect (Oy) Obama is coming to save us all from ourselves, 7 of 10 African American Californians voted for Prop. 8. Folks, you are going to have to learn things may not always go your way. As for Ms. Ethredge not paying her taxes, don’t worry. I’m sure the new Democratic leadership will find an exemption for those making over $250k that are in same sex-marriages in states that have voted against the concept… twice!

Advice needed? “Draft” Campaign

Hi Everyone,
As if this election was not punishment enough, a friend and I are considering a draft campaign for a potential congressional candidate in CA. Does anyone have any advice on…
1. How to get started, other than the obvious… website?
2. Legalities? Do we need to be a PAC, do we need or should we have any kind of copyright?

Thanks for any help you can give.
