Even before the law goes into effect, that wage pressure is being felt at A & P Farms in Gallant. Andy Kemp and his wife, Paula, farm about 15 acres, growing fresh fruits and vegetables they sell at seven farmers markets in the Birmingham area.

“It’s a mess right now,” Andy Kemp said.

Weeds are overtaking their sweet potato crop, and tomato vines are falling to the ground. In July, their two part-time farm workers, who were legal immigrants, left for higher wages at a larger tomato farm.

“It just put us out of business overnight,” Kemp said. “Thursday we were farming. Friday we were out of farming. That quick.”

They’ve since let go of five other employees. Paula Kemp said no matter what happens with the law, she doesn’t see how they can get back in business.

“The workers are gone,” she said. “They may come back. They may not come back. But we can’t plan for 2012 in January starting to start seeds and that sort of thing with the hope that we can get farm help.”

For a small farm like theirs, she said, paying higher wages is not an option. And at middle age, she added, they can’t do the work alone.

via Ala. Businesses Riled By State’s New Immigration Law : NPR.

So let me get this right what I see here is that it okay to pay these human beings a lower wage because they will work for less? It is okay to treat these humans as less than human because these “small business” people can do and increase the profit of their “small business”?
These people who are against the laws being enforced and stopping the flood of illegals into our country are saying that they can’t do business if they can’t hire cheap labor! What they hell is going on here…

Sounds to me like NPR is actually promoting the mistreatment and almost the enslavement of illegals for the sake of profit!!!! This is the same NPR that blast out about corporate greed and jumps on the Obama bandwagon about how all Tea Party members are racist and elitist. They are justifying the low wages payments and no benefits to the illegals.

Isn’t this the same kind stuff that corporations are being punished for by our political leaders and their mouth pieces in the media? How can this be? I must be mistaken… NPR would not be advocating the systematic and purposeful denial of rights, benefits, and a fair wage to a minority group in the name of a political cause would they?

And what about the legal workers that left to go to jobs that paid more? I guess we should go and drag them back to the farms, fields, and kitchens how dare them attempt to better themselves and achieve more in life by FOLLOWING the law.

If NPR really cared about the small business and helping people they would not be shrill for the increase of the minimum wage. As there little article so correctly points out when you increase the cost of labor you cut the profits and make it harder to hire more people.

And I will not get into the federal money that is spent on farm subsidies.

The thing I find so weird about some one proclaiming to be “Pro Choice” is that for all of the talk of standing up for a woman right chose they are usually against any other type of a “choice” option.

Take for instance the desire among the left to institute the military draft. Where is the choice here? They would much rather unwilling males forced to service and in the process destroy the morale of those of us who have served because we wanted to serve our country not for money or power but because we love our country and are honored to server her.

What the choice for a secret ballot when voting on unionization? We have a NLRB going after Boeing right now because Boeing made a decision in the best interest of the company and its customers.

What about school choice? They left wants us to force our kids to “public schools”. They don’t want us parents to have a choice where and how are kids are educated.

What about healthcare? Before ObamaCare we had more choice now we are facing an ever shrinking pool of insurance provider and doctors. Their “choice” is a single payer process which will further bankrupt the system.

What about a Doctor’s right treat patients according to his opinion? Not a choice under Obama care the doctor’s have limited choice.

How about media and the internet? FCC is out there reaching for more control and the power to keep thing “fair” and to keep those that the current regime deem offensive or distasteful out the conversation.

What about religion? Well now you have choice there as long as it not Christian, you talk about it and pray in public, force women to be subservient, limit any number of activities including dancing, driving, women talking on a equal level with a man, voice you choice about killing and slaughter of infidel’s etc. Additionally you can demand area be set aside for you to observe you religious belief at tax payer expense. However if you are a Christian of any favor you are threatened for wanting to pray before a crowd, football game, school function, public meetings, and you insert just about anything else here you have the idea.

It seems to me that the more I hear about someone being pro-choice they are really just saying that they want to be the one’s who get to choose and the rest of us are just the sheep to follow their lead.

I was in college back in 1989 or 1990 and taking a class on public speaking. A fellow student of mine gave a short speech contrasting the moral decline of the Roman Empire and the moral decline of America. It was a short speech lasted only about 4 minutes but I remember many of the points still today, it is by this remembrance that I came upon a thought that I would like to share with you.

The other POTUS continues to think in terms that giving a speech or a campaign like rally he will win support for his leftist ideas. He continues to blame other for his failings, the weather, the previous administration, his staff, his staffs staff, his wife, his kids, the American people, talk radio, and the list could go on and on. As a leader he has failed and will continue to fail because he does not understand that to lead is to take responsibility for yourself and the actions of others.

I say all this to bring you to this point. While thinking about the little speech I heard years ago and enduring yet another speech about healthcare from the POTUS, that I made the connection from Obama to Nero. Please allow me to show you what I mean.

If you think I am please let me know but just a read of both men biography only has borne out to me how much these two men are alike. It worries me and even though I know Nero was not in fact paying a violin while Roma burned, I sure have an image in my mind of the POTUS wearing a toga, playing a violin, and dancing while our Republic burns.
