Last week I told you about the DISCLOSE Act, a scheme by Barack Obama to silence his political opponents before the November election.
 
Well, Harry Reid has scheduled a vote on it THIS AFTERNOON.
 
In just hours.
 
Can I count on you to call your two U.S. senators at 202-224-3121 IMMEDIATELY and tell them to vote no?

As I told you, the purpose of the DISCLOSE Act is to use the force of law to bully, silence and intimidate Barack Obama’s political opponents.
 
It forces groups like WTP to fill out mountains of paperwork before they can comment on Obama’s radical agenda.
 
And it forces groups like WTP to hand to the government a list of our donors, complete with their home addresses (if it passes, we will refuse to comply.  We will NEVER hand over your name and address.)
 
But pro-Obama groups like The Sierra Club and the AARP do not have to comply.
 
It’s a sick, naked and shameless assault on the First Amendment and free elections.
 
That’s why Harry Reid wants a rushed vote today.
 
So please, call your two United States senators at 202-224-3121 right now.  Tell them to vote NO on the DISCLOSE Act.

Democrat Robert Byrd died after holding a senate seat since 1959.  He was a ranking member of the KKK, made an on record comment about creating a ‘waterloo moment’ for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and he opposed and fillibustered the Civil Rights Bill, among other dispicable racists acts.

President Obama said in a statement that the Senate “has lost a venerable institution and America has lost a voice of principle and reason.”  Democrats often described him as being the ‘conscience’ of the Senate.

How dare the liberal media portray conservatives as being racist while simultaneously sweeping the facts under the rug about their longest serving member of congress  who lived a life of shameful racism.

We celebrate Independence Day to recognize the exceptional freedom which generations of Americans have enjoyed. 
 
Our freedom was made possible in part by our founding fathers who brilliantly understood the necessary components of a free society. We must remember that with respect to history, our freedom is the exception to the rule. Thomas Jefferson spoke of this when he said, “The course of history shows us that as government grows, liberty decreases.”  This message, one of the key principals our country was founded upon, should re-unite us as we celebrate Independence Day. 
 
Sadly, our country has been steadily losing track of this founding principal, the philosophy behind which has enabled generations of Americans to be the most inventive and prosperous on earth.  I hope the citizens of this exceptional country remember that the more decisions a government makes ‘for you’, the less freedom you have to make decisions for yourself; and the more our country will align with others throughout history.
 
My fellow Americans, we are moving the wrong direction.  Our government has grown to control almost half of our economy and the size of our national debt has almost quadrupled in the past 2 years.  As we celebrate Independence Day together, remember Thomas Jefferson’s brilliance, “The course of history shows us that as government grows, liberty decreases.”  Please remember this; for it is the only way America will remain an exception in world history.

Did anyone else notice that Van Jones used the same words, ‘inflection point,’ that Robert Gibbs used when asked about the oil spill?  Van Jones used it when he was talking about how this week would be marked in progressive history as an inflection point. 

If one imagines driving a vehicle along a winding road, inflection is the point at which the steering-wheel is momentarily “straight” when being turned from left to right or vice versa.  An inflection point is a statistical point in which a curve changes to another direction.

Funny, I’ve never heard that word before and now I’ve heard it twice in the period of a few days.  Coincidence?

Conservative politicians:  When you speak about President Obama’s fiscal policy being like Europe’s, you are often unknowingly promoting Europe’s big government policies.  This is because Americans don’t understand Europe’s economic faults.  Please describe them each time you compare Obama’s policies to Europe. 

Here are some ideas for your expanation of Europe’s economic system:

Obama’s policies are moving America toward big, intrusive government which cripples economic growth as in the European model. 

Because we know that all over the world, the more a country’s government grows, the less the country’s economy grows.  We are seeing this now in Greece.

  What does a European, smaller economy mean to You? 

It means less small businesses will open, meaning less job opportunities, and less opportunities to increase the quality of life for you and for your children. 

European, big government means fewer larger companies will be able to expand, so there will be fewer opportunities for you and for your children to advance in your careers. 

Because fewer businesses will be growing, there will be smaller raises and smaller number of promotions. So you and your children are likely to experience a decrease in your quality of life. This is why the average wages in Germany, Europe’s power house, are lower than the average wages of Americans in 45 of our states. 

Unfortunately, many of you are already experiencing these struggles yourselves.  We know that as the left increases the size of the government here, growth in our economy will decrease, and more and more Americans will experience these struggles.  This is why the Obama administration recently said that high unemployment will be the new norm.  High unemployment comes with big government. Do you want this to be the norm here as it is in many places in Europe?

As many of you are struggling to find a job, you are experiencing a more stagnant, non-existent growth, European like economy .  Is this the direction you want to take your country? 

Let’s stand together and say NO to the democrat’s big, intrusive government European policies.  Let’s stand together in favor of a small American government, in favor of economic freedom from leftist, big government.  Because only with a small American government will there be growth in our economy.  Only with a small American government, will You and for Your chidren have the opportunity to have a more prosperous future.

GOP leadership:  Please adopt some new language surrounding the usage of the ‘European model.’ Explain how this will affect your listener’s lives, and the lives of your listener’s children each time you mention it rather than unknowingly selling the European system for the left.
