No Place for Political Correctness in the War on Terror

From the diaries, by Erick

The act of terrorism at Fort Hood reminds us all that regardless of what the Obama/Pelosi Team or the elite media call it we are at war with Islamic fascism. Americans must rise up and remind our elected officials, Republican and Democrat, that we will not sit idly by while they bow at the altar of political correctness. Americans must, because President Obama and Nancy Pelosi will not, demand that outrages such as the massacre at Fort Hood be labeled for what they are and treated for what they are—acts of terrorism in the war that radical Islam is waging on the United States.

The emerging facts of the Fort Hood case indicate that Major Hasan is a jihadist bent on killing Americans, particularly American service personnel, in the name of his religion. Reports have indicated that Hasan told colleagues at Walter Reed Hospital that non-Muslims are infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. We know Hesan communicated many times with radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki who is tied to Al-Qaeda, and repeatedly exclaimed “Allahu Akbar” as he carried out his brutal attacks.

The facts are clear. President Obama and Speaker Pelosi, however, remain loathe to identify evil.  Instead, President Obama stated that, “We don’t know all the answers yet. And I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.” This denial of domestic terrorism stands in stark contrast to President Obama’s denunciation of an American police officer when he said, “not having been there and not seeing all the facts…the police acted stupidly.”

The mainstream media has denied the obvious to maintain their anti-war, blame-America-first agenda as well.

The initial reports of the terrorist act on NBC, CBS and in the LA Times all omitted the fact that Hasan is a Muslim.

  • Bob Schieffer of CBS said that, “Islam doesn’t have a majority – or the Christian religion has its full, you know, full helping of nuts too.”
  • CNN anchor Betty Nguyen asked, “Are the Ft. Hood shootings the action of someone who might have suffered from PTSD?”
  • Pete Williams said on NBC that, “everything about his background is rock solid, and nothing extraordinary stands out about his background.”
  • Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano vowed to use her agency to “prevent everybody being painted with a broad brush.”

These people and others like them who willfully ignore the obvious terrorist motive of Major Hasan, solidify in the minds of the American people that they have become either too gutless, too liberal, too arrogant, or all of the above, to stand up for Americans against all enemies foreign and domestic.

These, of course, are the same people who have given us TARP, stimulus, a budget resolution with a trillion dollar deficit, Cash for Clunkers, and a health care bill that will wreck whatever functioning economy we have left. Americans, if they did not know better, might think that our leaders are actually working against us.

However, Americans are beginning to let the status quo and its defenders know that they have had enough. The recent gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey were to differing degrees referenda on the Obama/Pelosi agenda.

Voters in VA and NJ rejected the tax and spend programs of the incumbents or their parties. The voters in NY-23, moreover, rejected the oligarchic arrogance of Republican leadership by driving from the race their hand-picked pro-abortion and Acorn-endorsed Republican in favor of an independent conservative who nearly won after only a three week campaign. The message: no more business as usual.

The electoral uprising coupled with the absolute implosion of the mainstream media audience shines a ray of hope on an otherwise bleak landscape. Americans will no longer be treated as children who need the instruction and discipline of their intellectual and moral superiors. President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, the Congress, and the media better wake up soon or they soon will have all of the facts that they need – next election day.

No place for politics...period.

No place for PC should go without saying.

War is and should be HELL on the enemy; why else go to war in the first place. If any country is willing to put its people in harms way, they should at least let them fight with both hands.

Politics looses wars; Viet Nam comes to mind.

America and its PC politicians, media, and other America haters will always cause lost wars. If this doesn’t change, America should never go to war for any reason…exactly what the lefties want.

America the pitiful and weak.

I agree with both the direction and intent of this post but words do matter. Until we clearly understand what we are fighting we will be at a disadvantage that may become impossible to overcome. Rep Duncan correctly points out that the American people are fed up with the direction the administration is taking. Treating enemies as criminals. But if we do regain the upper hand in the coming years we should not repeat the mistakes that we have made in the past.

1. The Obama administration considers what happened on 9/11 as a criminal act. This is part of the reason that Hasan wasn’t arrested earlier. The FBI had all the information they needed to detain an enemy infiltrator, but if it is a crime, well different rules apply. You cannot detain someone because they say they are going to do something. You can’t besmirch someone for what they think. It is perfectly legal for people to think, and talk about the things Hasan thought about and spoke about, if you consider what he did a crime. It isn’t until a person’s thoughts are put into action and a crime committed that action can be taken to arrest the perpetrator. However, if what he did was an act of war, the object of the military action is to prevent the enemy from acting against you, and Hasan would have been detained long before it got to killing. Unfortunately the war on terror no longer exists, it is over according to Obama. It never existed. And it was treating Hasan as a criminal rather than an enemy combatant that lead to his being at liberty to make his attack.

2. Words matter. We are at war with Islamic Imperialists. Not Islamic terrorists, not radical Islamists. Terrorism is a tactic. Would we have won the war against Japanese Imperialism had Roosevelt declared war on naval aviation, because naval aviators struck Pearl Harbor? I think not. Islamic radicalism is not the source of our danger, but only the fertile ground upon which Islamic Imperialists can grow a vassal force that threatens us in ways our modern concepts of nations states and military force find impossible to comprehend. We can’t solve a problem that we can’t put accurately into words. Define it accurately as Islamic Imperialism, understand the ancient ways in which it works, then we can defeat it.

History Repeating.....

johnstoirvin (Diary) Friday, November 20th at 2:20PM EST (link)

Forty+ years ago I served, then watched, as politicians snatched defeat from the hands of victory and now, to qoute Yogi Berra, “it’s deja vu all over again.” Politicians draft us into these conflicts, supply just enough support to keep things lively, but not enough to win, then, when it drags on long enough so the people are disenchanted over the whole thing, our leaders switch to political mode in order to get reelected. History is repeating itself. And people die because of it.

There’s one simple solution: IF we decide we must go to war, then jump in with both feet, with the ultimate goal of WINNING and allow the managers (Generals) to do what we hired them to do. Do not micromanage! If politicians have the will and desire to go to war in the first place, why is it they don’t have enough belief in their own convictions to follow it through? Because they are selfish, arrogant cowards!! I say again…. selfish, arrogant cowards!!

Political BSD and political PC will be the downfall of our country. Mark my words.

Words well worth marking johnstoirvin

Any day now I expec America to wake up.
Any day now I expect our Fabian socialist infested mainstream media to get it right. But alas, we are slowly pouring our liberties down the toilet. When will Americans take off the rose colored glasses and se the reality of Socialism on our doorstep? If the politicians don’t get us then it will be a suitcasr bomb from Iran or a missel from N. Korea. If we don’t start spreading the word, 2010 election day will come and go and there will be nothing to stop this madman.

Like a spider, Socialism spins its sticky web which holds its victims powerless until they are devoured..

Clinton Politics

idealjoe (Diary) Saturday, November 21st at 1:01PM EST (link)

The Clinton administration started this crap of treating terrorism as a criminal activity instead of an act of war which it clearly is, evidently the political posture of a criminal act requires a smaller response and keeps voters at ease thinking this is no big deal. The Clintons hunted with this dog the whole time that Bill was in office. That is, when he wasn’t in the middle of a “Lewinsky”. And even now I can see Clinton fingerprints all over the actions or lack thereof of this current group of political hacks. Al Capone would be proud of lessons that the OBama crime family learned from his gangster activities.
This is only a mirror of his record in the Senate of voting present. This man does not have the courage to make any decision on anything. Thus the Czars, they make all the decisions that he or congress should be making so if the decision turns to sh–, he has deny ability He is a small minded person who hates the country that gave him the whole world His wife and radical friends hate this country too. So why are people surprised that every move he makes, is designed to destroy this evil land. How pathetic, how selfish and how childish. The liberals and greenies got exactly what they deserved.

Why would ye die?

The most dangerous man on the planet

martyinaz Saturday, November 21st at 11:05PM EST (link)

There will be 111 new bureaucracies formed to “operate” this new health care system. Don’t think for one minute it will be any more efficient than any other government operation you have ever had to deal with in your life. Imagine, with socialized medicine, going to the doctor will be like going to the DMV.
Those new bureaucracies will cost this nation dearly in many, many ways, over three trillion in ten years.. And seniors will be hurt the worst. With a 500 billion dollar cut to Medicare Senior Advantage in 2010 and one trillion within three years, we will be back paying for Medi-gap, (which is why AARP is backing Obama care).

The reality is, all medicine will become socialized if this nation is subjected to Obama care with the public option. Since the bill has passed the House, it will likely pass the Senate. The only weapon the Republicans have left is the filibuster. It will take 60 votes to stop them but after that only 51 votes to clear the Senate, and the Democrats have them.

Then we have to worry about Cap and Trade, Amnesty for illegals, our military situation, a lack of a strong foreign policy, and any number of new encroachments of the government into our society. With a nuclear threat from both Iran, and North Korea, we have as our leader at this time in American history, the most dangerous man on the planet.

Like a spider, socialism advances over its victims before they realize they are doomed.
