The American people have made their voices heard loud and clear during this August recess. If there was ever any doubt as to why President Obama was pushing to have the health care bill out of committee before the August recess, the mystery is over. Americans are upset with runaway government spending and soaring national debt, the last thing they want is a government take over of health care.
That being said, while we must continue to apply pressure of Democrats in Congress to oppose government run healthcare, we must also be aware of the other looming threat over the American people, Cap & Trade. Here’s a short video detailing my opposition to Cap & “Tax”.

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
Carbon emissions have not been that low since 1910

Steven Hayward, a Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, put pencil to paper to see whether it is even possible to meet the emission curtailment goals of the bill, H.R. 2454. The bill’s original goal was to reduce emissions by 80 percent from 1990 levels by the year 2050, which would be about 1 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2050. The House later changed the requirement to 84.5 percent of emissions in 2005 levels by 2050, but the total objective is about the same at 1.035 billion metric tons.
Carbon emissions have not been that low since 1910 when the U.S. population was 92 million people and the per capita income was about $6,000 (in current dollars). By 2050, U.S. Census Bureau projects 420 million people, which means that per capita emissions will have to fall to about 2.5 tons to meet the goal to reduce emissions by 80 percent.
The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
Under Crap and Tax we'll be living in a narco-syndicalist commune...

If HC goes down in flames
Maggie_in_Indiana (Diary) Monday, August 17th at 1:27PM EST (link)the cap and tax bill will too. The big issue for the blue Dogs is the cost. If HC is going to break the bank just wait till they get an earful from back Home In Indiana, when the snow flies. Bayh and others know the cost of energy across the board and the cost of the renew-ables is going to” necessarily skyrocket”. Pounding home the fact that “We are out of money” is taking root with Americans and in washington.

Correct - you do not raise taxes
izoneguy (Diary) Monday, August 17th at 4:41PM EST (link)Correct – you do not raise taxes and allow energy prices to” necessarily skyrocket” – if as Obama keeps saying we are in “The worst economic crisis since the depression”.
Sounds like some really great TV spots will be on tap for 2010.
