The “Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009,” the House health overhaul bill, creates the position of Health Choices Commissioner, or “Insurance Czar.”
The Insurance Czar would be appointed by the President to oversee the Health Choices Administration. This would be the 33rd federal ‘czar’ appointed by President Obama since his January 20, 2009 inauguration.
The appointee would be responsible for establishing and regulating geographically-based Health Insurance Exchanges, determining what benefits and coverages must be included in health insurance plans each year, and assessing fines on employers and individuals who do not provide or acquire health insurance.
The Insurance Czar would also be responsible for regulating private insurers’ marketing activities and use of funds, and for “promoting accountability” of insurance providers both within and outside of the Exchanges in “meeting Federal health insurance requirements.”
Additionally , the Insurance Czar would be privy to individuals’ tax return information, which he or she would use to determine who qualifies for federal subsidies to purchase insurance.

Americans Don't Like Being Ruled...
farstar99 (Diary) Friday, August 14th at 1:07PM EST (link)Especially by Czars.
Somebody needs to remind the ruling elite that they are not rulers or governors, but representatives.
Sometimes, that takes bloodshed. But in America, we fought several wars to make that unnecessary. (Didn’t we?)
Unfortunately, the Democrats and their union and ACORN stormtroopers have dismantled all that, at their peril.
A True Coop or Government Supported Back Door Plan
ellisclarke (Diary) Monday, August 17th at 1:08PM EST (link)Now Obama-Care is considering co-operative non-profit health care insurance programs. This in itself is might be a good move, but it does raise a number of question that need answers.
Like is the Government going to fund these co-operative non-profits out of our taxes?
If they are funded through taxes, like those companies who asked for and took the tarp money they will be subject to how the money is spend and what health services will be paid for and who will be calling the shots?. Government unelected bureaucrats and political czars or patience’s and their doctors?
When or if these non-profits were to go bankrupt, would we the tax payers have to bail them out, like was done with Banks and Auto sector?
So is it really a move away from a socialized universal health care or just another way for the Government to come in with dismantling the current health care insurance programs through the back door with these Government and tax payer funded non-profit health care insurance programs?.
Keep smiling
