We’re receiving E-mails from Capitol Hill staffers expressing frustration that they can’t get a copy of the stimulus bill agreed to last night at a price of $789 billion. What’s more, staffers are complaining about who does have a copy: K Street lobbyists.
E-mails one key Democratic staffer: “K Street has the bill, or chunks of it, already, and the congressional offices don’t. So, the Hill is getting calls from the press (because it’s leaking out) asking us to confirm or talk about what we know—but we can’t do that because we haven’t seen the bill. Anyway, peeps up here are sort of a combo of confused and like, ‘Is this really happening?’”
Reporters pressing for details, meanwhile, are getting different numbers from different offices, especially when seeking the details of specific programs.
Well, it’s a good thing Lobbyists have no place in President Obama’s administration, nor are they getting first access — even before Congress — to the legislation he is demanding be passed without being read so he can sign another $800 billion in debt into law at his earliest convenience.
Except that they are — but pay no attention to the goings-on behind the curtain. Only listen to the mantra of Hope and Change, and for goodness’ sake don’t look too hard at anything or ask any questions.

If you don’t believe they’re geniuses, just ask them. Practically every word of practically every piece of legislation ever passed either came from a consultant hired for a specific agenda (that would be people like me) or from a lobbyist. Most elected officials would be hard pressed to write anything more than their name.

What the hell else is in this bill ? There’s tons of crap happening out there and NOBODY knows what’s what, because nobody can read it all.
Scenario: It passes both House and Senate, he signs it and the next morning, every legal gun owner in the USA gets a knock on their door with someone on the other side saying “hand ‘em over”.

Mom’s right on the razor’s edge of needing 24/7 constant “eye-on” with Arthritis, frailty, and increasing immobility, etc. and Dad (WW II combat veteran – ETO) has been over the edge for 18 months with severe Dementia and complete non-mobility in his legs.
Neither one of ‘em has a clue what;s going on in our nation. If Dad did understand all this, he’d do whatever it takes to put things right – nothing would stop him either. I’d probably have spent as much if not more cash bailing him out of a Federal lockup as I have private-paying the nursing home.
The first inkling I hear that anything untoward goes on with their level of care…….. well, it’s not going to be pretty…. and I won’t ever fault anyone at the nursing home either, they’re fantastic, all of the staff.
