I wish we had Republicans in MA, but we don't. The few that ran against Kerry and Markey, my rep, in 2008 were RINOs. They were against the war, etc. I asked one how he could call himself a republican when all he was for on his webiste were dem ideas, of course I got no answer. I voted for the oppponents justt so I didn't cast a vote for Kerry and Markey, I usually write my own name in rarther than vote for one of them.

I have called these republicans, Snow, Collins, Specter since Friday. VM is full. I did email Kennedy several times and he, rather his staff has answered. I left Kerry a message telling him I was against this, but Kerry never responds.

I don't agree with anything Kennedy says, but I have to give him credit, he is gravely ill, but does have his staff respond, with his views, but at least he responds to me.

I would like real Republicans in MA, but will not hold my breath. Oganowski almost won rep seat from Tsongas in 2007 with very little money and the big dem machine against him. He was running against Kerry early in 2008, If Oganowski did so well by himself, I doubt he would have gotten his name tossed for not having enough signatures. I suspect foul play by the other one.

I addressed "leadership", which has nothing to do with bipartisanship. And, to restate my premise, GWB offered exactly zero leadership to either the nation or the party after the Iraq war started. He just ran off and hid under his desk and let "nature" take it's course.

In point of fact, "leadership" pretty well demands a rejection of "bipartisanship" in Washington DC (and in politics in general) today.

You sic Sen. Claire McCaskill on the media news anchors. Have her announce to the world the idiocy of these news anchors like Katie, Charlie, and Brian raking in these obscene salaries at this time of hardship and demand that their salaries be capped so they don't make any more salary than Obama makes.

UN is promoting one, I believe. The two of you will be sued in the International Court of Justice.

Using Lib's standard, it's more humane to teach K-12 with all the Hollywood stuff rather than industry and value creation.

Geez, you're children will be persecuted.... "profiteers" at a very young age.... young sinners! Oh Boy! they will fall from the good graces of the Obamessiah. So, stop it please.

heh

anyway, i agree with you about the power of the media - but reagan won in 1984 and bush won in 1988. heck, gwb won in 2004 even though he didn't know how to defend himself (although he had the benefit of an uninspiring and hapless opponent).

yes, the people were fooled for the 2008 elections - but the media, while very largely to blame, were hardly the only ones to blame (others include mccain, bush, gop leaders, etc).

i don't think the people are going to be fooled on this one, especially not after the democrats pass a few more horrendous bills (e.g., health care, new environmental regulations, and new taxes).

He wants to start a business. I told him let's look over the pork bill and see if we can get some Federal funds!!!

It will be sad when people with ideas & dreams to start a business will be slapped down by the Federal Government.

If your bosses vote YES on the stimulus, you will
be out of a job in the next election cycle. That
would be change you can believe in.

This bill will bankrupt America.

I am a small business owner. This bill will
only raise my taxes and provide zero benefit.

I have stopped taking a paycheck because I cannot
afford to pay the taxes. Unlike many Obama cabinet
members I actually pay my taxes.

That is why Democrats have no problem voting
YES to the biggest waste of money ever - they
don't pay anyway.

Obama wants $900,000,000,000 for a “stimulus”.
Over 4 years that would cost - drum roll please

$616,438,356.16 PER DAY for 4 years!!!!

or

$25,684,931.51 PER HOUR FOR 4 YEARS!!!!!

Wow, four years is 35,040 hours.
You could make 35,040 $25 Million dollar feature films for that price.
You could buy 17,520 F22 Stealth Fighter jets at $50 Million per plane.
$900 Billion would buy you 36 Million Cars at $25,000 per car.
$900 Billion will cost every American $3000, will every American see a $3000 benefit?
And most of that $900 Billion is to set-up more government programs that
will have to funded by - you guessed it - YOU!

Government cannot spend it’s way to prosperity.
After this bill passes, America will continue it’s slide to socialism.
This amount of government spending is an obscene afront to every
American taxpayer. Most taxpayers would see no benefit from any
of this spending.

YES to the biggest waste of money ever – they
don’t pay anyway.

Obama wants $900,000,000,000 for a “stimulus”.
Over 4 years that would cost – drum roll please

$616,438,356.16 PER DAY for 4 years!!!!

or

$25,684,931.51 PER HOUR FOR 4 YEARS!!!!!

Wow, four years is 35,040 hours.
You could make 35,040 $25 Million dollar feature films for that price.
You could buy 17,520 F22 Stealth Fighter jets at $50 Million per plane.
$900 Billion would buy you 36 Million Cars at $25,000 per car.
$900 Billion will cost every American $3000, will every American see a $3000 benefit?
And most of that $900 Billion is to set-up more government programs that
will have to funded by – you guessed it – YOU!

What happened to this catch-phrase? I think Martin is 100% correct. anytime a Republican gets on TV they should be emphatically stating this bill is NOT bi-partisan, it is 100% Liberal with the exact number of turncoats who voted for it.

Sending the plastic rino's to the off-center CongressCritters will only mean the new pets stay within the office walls and perhaps some office chatter.

If a complimentary rino is sent to the media (say like Carl Cameron or Jake Tapper) with a brief note explaining the reasoning behind the gift it might just make national news instead of a fuss behind closed doors.

The left has been using the MSM for years, it's time for us to start using them also.

They'll lie, the media will swear to it, and happy days will be here again. The state of the national economy is an abstraction to the citizenry. The old saw about a recession is when someone you know loses their job, a depression is when you lose yours is fairly true. That said, the media has tremendous power to influence the public's perception of the economy. They had a huge percentage of the population convinced that half the Country was homeless and half the children were missing back during Reagan. The had a huge percentage of the Country convinced that the economy had gone to Hell in a handbasket all during the GWB Administration. Most of the "recession" we're experiencing right now is caused by the dramatic drop in consumer spending and confidence caused directly by fear-mongering in Washington and amplified by the MSM.

at least for those doing the seceding part. Anyway, any talk of it is simply idle chatter; it is inconceivable to most Americans even in the Red states. Fundamentally, if the Blue states have the power to enact these measures, and they do, then they have the power to force dissident states and citizens to comply. It ain't like every military aged male in the Red states is going to be willing to grab a gun, especially if it would mean missing an American Idol episode.

The price of opposition is your state doesn't get the money and some Blue state gets what would have been "your share." The other price of opposition, the price of being a Red state generally, is going to be an invasion by the federal government in the form of federal auditors, inspectors, investigators, and law enforcement. They've shown here in Alaska that it is very easy to make being a politician a crime. I will guarantee you that with a team of auditors and investigators, I can bring crimanal charges against and likely secure a conviction of ANYBODY in the executive branch of ANY government who has the authority to expend funds.
