doesn't have its share of more moderate republicans. They still pony'd up though.

You know, I was prepared to right some long post about fiscal problems from this activity, but you know what? It's simpler than that.

One question.

Where's the money coming from?

We're either borrowing from the Chinese or inflating the dollar. One or the other. How is that a better alternative?

I generally call, but I also have their fax numbers programmed so that I can send articles or more lengthy comments when necessary.

I wonder which, if either, one of these methods is more useful.

As a cat owner I see the similarities to herding CongressCritters also. They do what they want and even if you punish them, they turn around and do it over.

is it better to CALL them, to MAIL or FAX them a printed letter, or to contact them via their websites online (basically EMAIL)? Any statistics on which they pay most attention to? Are most responsive to? For my own state sens and reps, I'm trying to do at least 2 - I'd like to move beyond state lines (thank the people - like the 11 dems who did the right thing yesterday, or for our more RINO GOP sens, hold their feet to the fire) - and I want to be as efficient and effective as possible. If an aid answers the phone, do they record your message, or just say "you got a call that said vote no on the spending bill." I was just looking for a little more insight here, if you've got it? Thanks!

I bet a smart guy like you could find Kirsten Gillibrand's cell phone number. If I can do it, anybody can. Ditto, some of the other folks.

(not that it did any good)

Here is my promise to every Republican voting for this bill;

- If the pork and socialist items are not cut in negotiations, and tax decreases equal to or greater then the sum of remaining handouts (to people who actually pay taxes) then I will use all my energy and money to help you retire. NRSC take notice, ditto RNC.

I truly believe this is important enough for the Directors to let Senators know where we stand and that no excuses are aacceptable. We should work feverishly to support challengers to any voting for this bill. That includes Mitch, who will no doubt come here to explain his vote. No thanks.

I did call Chuck Schumer and kirsten Gillibrand to express my displeasure, though. Not everyone in New York wants a handout. We may have a chance though with Gillibrand-she voted against the other bill twice in the Congress, and we don't know how much the Senate will twist her arm. This is a good test for her.

But if the conventional wisdom is true, that what Republicans need to do is to recruit more fiscally-conservative-but-socially-moderate MainStreeters like Collins and Snowe, then we should have no problem securing their vote against this calamity since it would be the fiscally conservative thing to do! Right? Right? Or could the CW really, truly be wrong? Heaven forfend!
