The author bios included in the release from “Third World Press” (“Progressive Black Publishing Since 1967″) read as follows:
Bill Ayers is a distinguished professor of education and a senior university scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the author of To Teach: The Journey of a Teacher and Fugitive Days, a memoir about his life with Bernardine Dohrn.
Bernardine Dohrn is the director of the Children and Family Law Justice Center and a clinical associate professor of law at Northwestern University School of Law. She is the co-author of A Century of Juvenile Justice and Zero Tolerance. They live in Chicago.
Funny. I don’t see any mention of Ayers’ and Dohrn’s sordid pasts as cop-killers and terrorists who killed as many members of the “establishment” as they could, then lamented they didn’t kill more. No, they’re just “educators” who, according to the official synopsis of their book, learned a great deal about racism, et al from their past “confrontations with authorities”:
In Race Course: Against White Supremacy, white supremacy and its troubling endurance in American life is debated as the dominant political system in the United States since its earliest days—and that it is still very much with us [Auth: Is that sentence even English?].
The discussion points to unexamined bigotry in the criminal justice system, election processes, war policy, and education.
The book draws upon the authors’ own confrontations with authorities during the Vietnam era, reasserts their belief that racism and war are interwoven issues, and offers personal stories about their lives today as parents, teachers, and reformers.
“Confrontations with authorities”? As in, when they were trying to blow those authorities up, along with Congress and the defense personnel working at the Pentagon? Hm…Rich white liberals trying to kill folks because they were white and represented the “Establishment” — where exactly does the theme of “fighting against racism” come into play there?
Given Barack Obama’s prior relationship with the terrorist Ayers and his wife, would it be altogether surprising if the new President made a surprise appearance at this event, which is being held to celebrate heir efforts to keep racism and hate alive in America?

If I bomb the Pentagon...
kowalski (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 7:16PM EST (link)If I bomb the Pentagon will someone make me a professor? Better yet, if I’m an unrepentant Communist who marries someone who bombs the Pentagon, will you please, pretty please, make me an associate professor of law at a prestigious midwestern university?
What if I just bomb the state capitol?
Or how about the local police department?
Or the Taco Bell?
Or the Northwestern University School of Law Faculty Lounge?
[Note to the humorless: I neither advocate nor would I tolerate any of these acts. But both Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn did, and do. The only difference is that they got professorships. And you'll notice that higher education was a big recipient of money in the stimulus plan that passed today, so in one sense it's difficult to argue with their success. Bomb the government, get paid.]

Trying to equate terrorist bombings with the fight for equal rights
olsmithie (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 7:30PM EST (link)is quite a stretch, even for an admitted terrorist like Ayers.

What's the difference between him and Timothy McVeigh...?
NeoKong (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 9:45PM EST (link)Timothy was more successful.Other than that…not much else. They both felt that their political and personal views justified their actions against the govt.of the U.S. and innocent civilians.

janis (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 9:52PM EST (link).
Twenty years in prison would be nice.
NeoKong (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 10:11PM EST (link)There are plenty of people in prison who did far less. What would Chicago PD do if they stopped me with a pipe bomb in my car….?
Answer:They wouldn’t offer me a job as a professor.

mbecker908 (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 9:56PM EST (link)I have some excellent pieces of less...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 10:59PM EST (link)than lethal weapons we can test on this guy. Yeah I know that they have a 20% risk of permanent injury but he owes us something more than a few books. Maybe some real scientific data rather than some fancy writing.
Not interested in "less".
mbecker908 (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 11:39PM EST (link)I would be interested in “more lethal” though.
No President launched his political career from McVeigh's house

Bill Ayers and what surprises me about him is...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 11:03PM EST (link)he is still alive living in a country that he obviously think is all about white surpremacy. You would have thought the aryan nation would have picked him off by now. Geez, what kind of country are we living in when a person says that we are full of white surpremacists and the whistleblower (Ayers) still lives. WE have some pretty incompetant white supremacists in this nation. Of course you all know that I am being facetious. Just making a point tongue-in-cheek
If The Mess-I-Yah shows up, will he bring "The Letter" with him for Ayers' approval ?
Kenny Solomon (Diary) Thursday, January 29th at 12:03AM EST (link)What letter you ask ?
This letter………
President Barack Hussein Obama’s Letter To Iran.
Officials of Barack Obama’s administration have drafted a letter to Iran from the president aimed at unfreezing US-Iranian relations and opening the way for face-to-face talks, the Guardian has learned.
The US state department has been working on drafts of the letter since Obama was elected on 4 November last year. It is in reply to a lengthy letter of congratulations sent by the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on 6 November.
[snip]
While Obama is taking the lead on policy towards Iran, the administration will soon announce that Dennis Ross will become a special envoy to the country, following the appointments last week of George Mitchell, the veteran US mediator, as special envoy to the Middle East, and Richard Holbrooke, who helped to broker the Bosnia peace agreement, as special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
