They keep this ad going long after the elections. Pressure needs to be put on the Democrats for what they’ve done… and any Republicans who followed along, for that matter.

Great Web Ad

Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 1:54PM EST (link)

Not a TV ad though, unless they can condense it to 60 seconds and run full minute ads, I’m not sure how this will circulate.

Great, great Ad!!

Quick play it in the battleground states while it is hot.

They can

make it into 60 sec faster pace and they have plenty of money. They need to get off their butts.

I love the video

Great Ad

pac_NY (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 2:04PM EST (link)

It should be broadcast continuously.

I have had it up to here with some people I must unavoidably encounter daily who have been utterly obsessed with non-stop ranting and blaming of Republicans and Bush in particular for everything, and now of course, including this colossal disaster.

The Left has become impervious to some obvious truths, but this ad may help enlighten others.

Better yet....

go to NRCC.org and tell them to get off their butt and put this on tv.

Will this play on TV?

MelZ (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 2:12PM EST (link)

Obviously like most others have mentioned it needs to be condensed, but will it actually make it to TV? So often I see great ads on the web and NEVER see them out in the mainstream! I want this ad to run consistently at least through elections.

MelZ

they should buy air time for this ad on ADC, CBS, and NBC

that is super, super, super. I can’t believe it – somebody at NRCC has grown a pair. I hope this disease spreads.

Great Ad

Frozen_Man (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 2:28PM EST (link)

I agree I think it can be condensed down to a 60-70 second tv commercial and would be very powerful. It would be nice to see our party hit back for once.

Great Ad!

quill67 (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 3:01PM EST (link)

I agree with previous comment. Has the RNC actually developed a backbone???

But a problem still remains. McCain needs to be bold as well.

I love how Palin kept saying “Energy Independence” last night, but it is not enough!

Why???

When oil prices fell to $106, OPEC responded by cutting Production!!! THEY DECLARED ECONOMIC WAR on us and we have done nothing but talk.

McCain should mobilize our nation to fight the economic war that has been placed upon us. Get us off oil not by 2025, but in say 5 years! Mobilize every asset in our country: Put the unemployed housing workers to work building new energy infrastructure whether it is coal to gasoline, conversion of trucks and cars to natural gas, gas pipelines, nuclear power so we can generate electricity without oil, develop wind and solar.

THIS IS A WAR and We Should be Acting Like IT

Credit derivatives, anyone?

AmesG Friday, October 3rd at 3:09PM EST (link)

I’m frankly surprised that people are happily blaming the Democrats for this; it’s such a transparent lie. Obama sounded the alarm on FM/FM years ago, and McCain pushed through more deregulation of off-the-books credit derivatives, encouraging mortgage bankers to play with other peoples’ money to the breaking point. Unsurprisingly, it backfired. Shoot the messenger?

Years & years ago?

Yep

MikeO Friday, October 3rd at 3:21PM EST (link)

Community Organizer Obama was sounding the alarm to organize thug pressure on the lenders and the GSEs to make bad loans to people who had no ability to make good on them.

AmesG needs to keep on stoking that smoldering class warfare. When it comes, our side will win, and his will lose.

No, AmesG, 1,500 words on the subprime mortgage mess is enough.

Attack Mode (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 3:22PM EST (link)

John McCain and President Bush brought this up no less than 11 times in the past 8 years, Barney Frank said explicitly that FM/FM have no issues with solvency. Bill Clinton also admits that John McCain and President Bush tried to correct this before it became a problem. Now go back to DKos where you belong.

Obama channel

KBDay (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 3:35PM EST (link)

Maybe we could buy time on the new Obama channel and loop it between his ads? :>)

Even Dems admit their b.s. helped cause this. It’s all about lawsuits for them–take a look at Joe Biden’s top 5 contributors.

For what?
For blocking FNMA reform?
For accepting huge campaign donations from FNMA and FMAC?
For having democrat party operatives take over FNMA and force lenders to make sub-prime loans?
For supporting ACORN and Obama in forcing lenders to make subprime loans?
For covering up for FNMA and FMAC as they deteriorated?
For calling those daring to ask for reform of FNMA racists?
Pick any – they all fit.

Or just let us oooo and aaahhh about youtube?

Time to get serious.

Yeah, I was shocked to see this

rachael Friday, October 3rd at 4:03PM EST (link)

So gleefully posted.

So, Democrats didn’t see the crisis coming and didn’t push for fixes.

Well, guess what? Neither did Republicans. Bush may have said something in 2003, but guess who was in control of the House and Senate in 2003? The Republicans could easily have pushed something through — the Democrats at the time were (and still are) wimps and weren’t willing to filibuster or block anything big (except maybe private accounts for Social Security, but quite a few Republican congress members had to bail on that one since it was so unpopular).

Gleefully blaming the entire financial crisis (implied to be caused by F&F) entirely on the Democrat Party is absurd and likely won’t go over well with voters. I think most voters realize this is a bi-partisan failure of epic proportions — the trick now for the parties is to convince the voters that their party can fix the mess better.

Race Card

MikeO Friday, October 3rd at 4:06PM EST (link)

The democrats played the race card. The end.

Clearly, we need to be doing a lot of homework assignments today.

Content was fine but where was Obama?

DaMav Friday, October 3rd at 4:14PM EST (link)

Why wasn’t he listed as one of the beneficiaries of contributions from F&F?

It’s a matter of personal taste but I found the background music too loud and annoyingly melodramatic.

But the underlying message was great, on target, and needs to be repeatedly delivered.

Here we are spending 700B to bail out high risk mortgages and the architects of that atrocious system are standing at the podium patting themselves on the back. That would be Dodd and Frank, especially but there are many others, most of them Democrats.

Wait

Wait until the townsfolk grab their torches and pitchforks.

You know what is REALLY funny?

Jack_Savage (Diary) Friday, October 3rd at 4:44PM EST (link)

I have learned in the past few weeks that when a Democrat says “there’s plenty of blame to go around”, they have been caught, on tape, dead to rights.

Dems have handed Republicans the election on a silver platter, but Republicans are doing all they can to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

the House Republicans joined the Senate in forcing the “Crap Sandwich” down the throats of the American People.

Thank God for the handful who stood firm against the combination of blandishments of consumer baubles and the threats that were made to peel off enough House Republicans to pass that turkey.

The “Crap Sandwich,” it should be noted, does absolutely nothing about the problem identified so well by this web ad.

As President Reagan said so memorably (oops, maybe not for this crowd): “If not us, who? If not now, when?”

Why, oh why, can;t McCain and Palin mention this, along with Sen. Obama (D – Fannie Mae) during an unfiltered moment, like, say, a DEBATE?

We can't do anything about it. It's the Socialist Democrats' Year.

Rod_Patrick (Diary) Saturday, October 4th at 4:51AM EST (link)

Meaning, everything about this year is all crap.

We might as well forgive the Republicans who turned into the Crap Sandwich as their main dish.

On the bright side, I’ve got to find this year my new leaders…

Lady Sarah Palin of Alaska.

and her two Knights…

Knight Jindal and Knight Cantor

Yes, but...

Fr_Martin_Fox Saturday, October 4th at 8:26AM EST (link)

…don’t forget the Socialist “Republicans.”

Yes, we do have two parties, but it’s not Ds and Rs. Forget about all that! What we have is a Party of Government, vs. the People and their liberties.

McCain and Obama, and Bush and Frank and the rest stood shoulder-to-shoulder for the Bailout, for scapegoating free enterprise (“Wall Street Greed!”) and against dealing with the source of this, which is mandates to give loans to uncreditworthy borrowers.

I’m sorry to say it, because it won’t go down any easier than the Crap Sandwich, but: forget about Palin if McCain wins; because she’ll have to spend the next four years helping him serve up more of the same and she’ll have smile while she does it. If you watched her debate, surely you noticed how she’s already had to do some of that? Repeatedly piling on “Wall Street Greed!” and even putting a plug in for “McCain-Feingold.”
