The class warfare worldview of the Democrat nominee for President was on full display Saturday in North Carolina, when the freshman Senator from Illinois said:
But just as important as what we heard from John McCain was what we didn’t hear.
The truth is, through 90 minutes of debating, John McCain had a lot to say about me, but he had nothing to say about you. He didn’t even say the words ‘middle class’ — not once.” [Ed.- For the record, Obama himself said the words "middle class" three times in the debate.]
That’s right — McCain didn’t say “Middle Class” in the debate — nor did he say “Upper” or “Lower” class. He also didn’t say “blacks,” or “homosexuals,” or any of those other nicely splintered groups and classes that Democrats love to cram people into for political purposes.
That people wouldn’t be looked at solely in terms of skin color, gender, sexuality, and/or income level, but as Americans, is as foreign to Obama and his fellow Democrats as ideas like “realistic foreign policy” and “national security” — which is to say, about as foreign as can be.

We might really have a WAR. A war against socialism and against the destruction our beloved America.
what we have here is a failure to communicate

Some of his supporters really astound me. And yet, one of my friends thought I was mocking Christianity (and Obama’s faith) by calling him the Messiah. Flew over the head, I guess.

Hestrold (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 12:51AM EST (link)I can’t believe that this guy, “O” is doing as well as he is. I mean objectively he is a left fringe nut job and he’s even odds, (actually better than even according to the betting) to be the next President of the effing US. What is wrong with me that I think he has no chance of winning? Or, what is wrong with everybody else?

Call me simple minded
Gary (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 12:59AM EST (link)And your probably right. But I cannot for the life of me imagine a president of these United States named Barack Hussein Obama. Put absolutely everything else aside….the ultra liberalism, the experience, Rev. Wright, Ayers, everything! And I always come back to that name. I just dont see it happening anywhere other than typically liberal states.

Do Americans really think like him? Of course not, but when you look at his supporters it’s just mind boggling. Seemingly every one of his supporters(and not the smooth talking surrogates, I mean civilians) is a complete simpleton.
They can’t defend his positions, his background, or his friends.
I blame Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.(half joking)

How do you do with the name President Bobby Jindal? He’s an Indian-American (Not THAT Indian you simple minded — India)
Does that foreign connection bother you too?
Don’t put his radical ties to Ayres, Wright et al aside — they are the associations we need to concentrate on — not his name.

Republican For Obama
ChipD Sunday, September 28th at 10:50AM EST (link)This is my first post to a blog, but I felt it was important to offer a comment.
I know it is hard in the screaming hysteria of the last closing days of an election to talk about anything calmly and rationally, but I think the Red-Staters should know that not everyone who supports Obama is a flaming liberal dupe.
The Republican Party has lost people like me- a conservative Catholic who proudly voted for Reagan every time, who passionately defended conservative principals during the dark days of the ’70s.
I feel the conservative movement has lost its founding principals of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and most importantly, the dedication to personal liberty.
GWB is the final culmination of the transformation of the GOP into a party of Big Government, both in spending, and in disregard for privacy, liberty and the rule of law.
I am heartbroken to say it, but the GOP needs to be sent into the political wilderness for a decade or so, to rediscover their sense of identity.

bk (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 11:06AM EST (link)We get another generation of pro-abortion Supreme Court balance? That’ll show the GOP! If you’re going to say being Catholic is part of your decision-making, how can you say you want to send the GOP a message by electing the guy who believes not just in abortion on demand during the first trimester, not just in abortion on demand through the pregnancy, but abortion even after the baby is born?
Corporate tax increases are indirect fire on middle class
Harod (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 11:11AM EST (link)Fred Thompson said it best at the RNC convention..
“Now our opponents tell you not to worry about their tax increases.
They tell you they are not going to tax your family.
No, they’re just going to tax “businesses”! So unless you buy something from a “business”, like groceries or clothes or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small “business”, don’t worry … it’s not going to affect you. “
While I don't agree with you Chip....
MrSandman (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 11:30AM EST (link)I can’t help but realize in hindsight how silly all the floppping and twitching over Monicagate was when compared to this debacle.
The GOP seems insistent on repeatedly stabbing themselves in the gut. It’s ugly to watch.
I’ve been nursing my wounds with healthy doses of JWB since word of this disgusting bailout package trickled out.
God help us all.
“Americans can no longer trust the economic information they are getting from this Administration.”

Anakin, you were supposed to fight the Evil Empire, not join it!
ChipD Sunday, September 28th at 11:38AM EST (link)Part of my disgust with the GOP is that they are slowly becoming the very thing they fought against-
Economic Lunacy- The Socialists preferred Marxist theory over sober economic policy- the GOP prefers to spend wildly, borrow irresponsibly, and has no coherent plan for how to pay for the gazillion dollar budgets that they propose. Taxes? Of course no one wants higher taxes, they are always a drag on the economy- but isn’t the threat of borrowing a trillion dollars from Red China a bit more frightening than paying higher taxes?
The Socialists granted unlimited power to the State, in order to be secure- the GOP (with weak Dem enablers)has granted nearly unlimited powers to the State to imprison American citizens without a trial, or even a hearing (re: Jose Padilla, American citizen arrested on US soil).
The Socialists politicized everything- every single decision at every level of Govt was decided on political loyalty and ideology; the GWB administration has made political loyalty and ideological fervor its governing principals (re: Monica Goodling & Alberto Gonzales).
I could go on, but you see the idea- the GOP has lost its moorings in individual liberty, and has opted for a regime of brute force, coercion, and disregard for the individual.
Love of centralized power- The Socialists made certain that the central power held complete power over the regions and cities; the Bush Administration freely tramples over local and state jurisdictions, to enforce whatever policy they decree, with callous disregard for state’s rights and local autonomy (re: EPA vs. California emissions, DEA vs. California medical marijuana laws, etc.).
Ronald Regan called the Soviet Union the Evil Empire, and rightly so- but Bush & Cheney are behaving more like ossified Communist Party bosses than liberty loving Americans.
So, you claim to be a conservative Catholic and yet you are supporting a guy who advocates for Infanticide?
QueenOfCups (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 11:42AM EST (link)Yeah, that will be believed.

Gary (Diary) Sunday, September 28th at 2:00PM EST (link)Is alot of folks have a very negative feeling towards that Muslim name. For some people that alone is enough to sway their decision not to vote for him. I watched an interview they had with people in Virginia and half of them still thought he was a muslim. With the Bradley effect, the muslim name, and the radical connections of Wright and Ayers I see no way he will be elected. He has way too much going against him that doesn’t show up in polls. You took my comment and applied it to Bobby Jindal, which is a night and day difference from Hussein Obama. Plus Jindal has actually done something in his life, and he doesn’t hang around terorist and racist. When I said put all the other stuff aside, I meant alot of voters probably dont even know that radical side of him. They are going to look at that name and say no way. Not everyone pays attention like the people here, and of course we need to keep the Wright and Ayers issues on the table. Oh and thanks for the lesson on the difference between Indians and India, but what about Indiana? I know some real strange people from down there.
