Mr. Ridge and Mr. Powell thank you for the input, but I must politely say “f**k off

In 1986 I ran a campaign in Upstate New York.  It was a primary campaign for an open seat and it was more then obvious that the potential to be very negative was there.

I had the better candidate.  We were heavily financed, he was known and very well liked, plus a record of cutting taxes and providing jobs.  He was ideal.

We had the usual coterie friends, relatives, and hangers on.  I wanted to go nuclear and get past the primary.  We were in a heavy Republican District and the general would be no problem.  The friends of the candidate from day one told me how this was New York and negative campaigns did not work there.

They were so determined to prove their point that they had the chief of staff for Al D’amato call me to explain how negative campaigns do not work in New York.  This was after Al D’Amato ran one of the most negative primary campaigns in the history of American politics against Jake Javits a sitting Republican US Senator.   A campaign where Al had accused Javits of being a “dying old man”.  Where Al had run an anti-semitic campaign in upstate New York.  This guy was telling me that negative campaigns do not work in New York.

For all of you people who have not run a political campaign you have to understand.  When you walk up to your candidate the night of the election and tell him he has won a look comes over their face.  It is there just for a moment.  It is a look that says they have won because of divine right.  Forget the hard work, the 20 hour days, the army of volunteers, fund raisers and everything else.  They won because they were supposed to win.

Every political operative I have ever known has talked about the “look.”   Every winning candidate I have had no matter the office from dog catcher to President has had that look.

Tom Ridge and Colin Powell have forgotten how they became Tom Ridge and Colin Powell.  Ridge has fogotten how in his first congressional campaign he waged a vicious, negative, campaign.  He forgot that to win he would do anything because his ego drove him to it.

He has not forgotten how Dick Cheney blocked his being nominated as Secretary of Defense under President Bush.  Gary Bauer led the public opposition to Ridge and Cheney in private told Bush it was not a good political move at that time.  His biggest proponent for the Secretary of Defense was Colin Powell.   Powell wanted his old friend Ridge to be his counterpart at Defense while was at State.  Cheney, won the initial confrontation, however, he would endorse Ridge for Secretary of Homeland Security after 9/11.

Colin Powell is beginning to look like a weak version of Ulysses S. Grant.  After Grant left the White House beginning with his memoirs he spent the remainder of his life attempting to rehabilitate his name and rationalize the actions he took as President.  That is Powell.  He is desperately attempting to clear his name from any besmirching that being President Bush’s Secretary of State might have caused or created.

He is saying whatever the media wants him to say to get in their good graces.  He is smart enough to know that defending the Messiah will always lead to pats on the head and smiles from the media.   He also has a bone to pick with Cheney since on at least two known occasions Cheney carried the day in confrontations with President Bush.

Both Powell and Ridge would have walked over their own mothers to achieve their ambitions.  I was a junior officer on Powell’s staff in the Army it was known by everyone he was more interested in favorable headlines for himself then ANYTHING ELSE.  Powell was a carbon copy of Omar Bradley.

Bradley was very shrewd in his manipulation of the press.  The line “the soldier’s General” was generated by his staff.  He was excellent when it came to logistics and training.  As a strategist and tactician he was very timid and spent his time more concerned about losing (getting bad headlines) then in winning.

When Patton was making his end run and stood to completely destroy the German 7th Army and end the war before Christmas of 1944 Bradley halted him so Montgomery could have his ill fated and militarily stupid “Market Garden”.  Bradley let Montgomery carry the argument to Eisenhower and prevail because he was afraid that Patton was due for a loss and he wanted to stop him.

If Patton had his way hundreds of thousands of lives could have been saved and the war would have been over sooner then it was.  Bradley was convinced once the fighting reacher German soil Patton would be defeated in his all out assault.

That is Powell.  He was always timid and overly cautious.  The media always get a woody when speaking of the Powell doctrine.  Well golly gee his so called doctrine has only been used military commanders for over 4,000 years.   Nice of him to package well known military strategies and tactics and put his name on them.

If Colin Powell and the well known anti-semite Brent Scowcroft had listened to General Norman Schwarzkopf and pushed ahead into Baghdad in February, 1991, the second Gulf War would have not been necessary and the entire face of the Middle East would have changed and changed for the good.  Powell as well as the famous anti-semite were too afraid to finish the fight.   They were afraid of losing a war they had already won.

With all of my rambling in place I must at the end politely refuse the weak kneed, biased (read payback), and ignorant advice of Tom Ridge and Colin Powell.

The Newest Attack From The dims and MSNBC Soon To Be Everywhere

If you watch the media and the dims closely enough you learn that the first sounding board is Chris Matthews.  He always makes the first accusation or political swipe and then the others pile on board.

His biggest thing now is “It does not matter if the AG can win the case what matters is that the Bush people are indicted and then put on trial.  It is the American thing to do.”

They don’t want or care about convictions they want the trials only.   They want the taxpayers to pay millions and millions of dollars and to drag this out to get past the mid term elections next year.

As long as this is in the headlines people will forget about the economy (so they think) or the cap and trade.  They will sneak the cap and trade past everyone while this crap is going on in the public.

Psst Want To Know The Real Reason We Lost To The One?

The nation’s economy is in tatters.  The financial institutions have gone to Hell.  Employment is fast approaching 10%.

We have the Russians reinforcing their forces in South Ossestia.  Iran is ratcheting up the rhetoric on Israel and getting ready to build the bomb.  The Chineses are on the verge of saying “no mas” to any more loans.

All of these going on in the world and what do our Presidential candidate and his campaign manager want to talk about?  What does the sage of the Republican party, Meghan McCain want to talk about?  What does Steve Schmidt echo?

Gay marriage and tattoos.  You got me yep I can see it now that is why we lost.  Stupid us, how did we miss those great issues?   We deserved to lose for not seeing those.

I Weally Weally Mean It, Don’t You Shoot That Big Rocket

I mean it this time.  I weally, weally mean it.  I told them all if you shoot that big rocket into the air I will tell Hillary.  Hillary won’t like that.  She told me if you do that and I tell her she will tell on you to the UN, whatever that is.

This UN must be a weally fun place.  Every time I say I am going there Nancy jumps and down and says take me, take me.  Harry the scarecrow is already mad at me he says I like Nancy more then him.  He he he he he don’t tell anyone but I do.  Nancy lets me bounce marbles off her forehead.  She can’t feel a thing so don’t worry.  Let that be our secret.

But if that mean ole Kim Jong Sick shoots his rocket in the air I am going to tell Hillary.  Those mean old men in those uniforms keep telling me I should grow up, but what they know if they were any good they would be me.

Kim now I told you so when I go and tell HIllary remember I warned you.  No one messes with the Hillary monster.  Nyeah, Nyeah, Nyeah, Nyeah

Time For All Good Republicans To Shut Up

Chris Dodd is lobbing grenades at the White House.  The boys at the White House calls the onerous addendum to the TARF, the “Dodd Amendment”.  Nancy Pelosi say enforcing the immigration laws is “un-American”.

I have been counseling patience just wait that group of bozos will kill themselves off and do it quickly.  For Heaven’s sake stop beating up fellow Republicans.  Just sit back and watch.  These asses will kill their golden goose.

Also for Heaven’s sakes just keep repeating this one line over and over, “Democrats lied the economy died.”  I coined that phrase in October of last year and posted it here.  Someone liked it enough to take it and run with.  God bless you if it means defeating democrats you can steal every word I have ever uttered.

Its The “F***ing” Economy You Morons!!!!!!!!

I am astounded at watching these idiotic children who are referrect to as leaders of the Republican Party in their hissy fit fight.  First of all my five year old grand daughter fights tougher then Eric Cantor, Michael Steele, and Rush Limbaugh fight.

OK I know you three are not the brightest bulbs in the circuit but do try to wrap your minds around this.  None of you by yourself are the Republican Party.  I was a Republican fighting dims before you three could spell Republican.   Get over your egos.

This is the deal it is about the economy.  What is so hard for Michael Steele and Eric Cantor to grasp about this?  What did they give an IQ test and everyone that failed it went into the leadership of the GOP?   Hello, Earth to stupid Republicans.

On a day that the Dow Jones tanked these three morons are fighting each other.  You make me ashamed to be a Republican.  On January 27th I wrote a diary entry on this.  Even then I was saying that you have to bash the dims on the economy.

On January 4, 2007, history was made in the United State.  The first woman was sworn in as Speaker Of The House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.  On this day in history or herstory as she likes to point out the following was true.

The Dow Jones Average was 12,398.01 (1/5/07)

Nasdaq was 2,504.65

Unemployment was 5%

The National Debt was 7% of GDP

On January 6, 2009 Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as Speaker of the House again and even more Democrats won election

The Dow Jones Average was 8,599

Nasdaq was 1,580

Unemployment was 7.2%

the debt was 11% of GDP

Want to win in 2010 them make Nancy Pelosi the poster child of failure.  Voting yes for Democrats is voting No for America.  Want a job?  Vote Republican.

If you are a Republican and you get in front of a camera repeat these numbers over and over.  Forget Bush, forget everything, crucify Nancy Pelosi.  She is the enemy.  The Democrats came back to power focusing on just one person.   That is what we do.  We focus on one person and that is Nancy Pelosi.  The Queen of Contraception, The Duchess of Economic Doom, The worse Speaker of the House in the history of this nation.  P

Hit her early and hit her often.  Make her the face of every bad in the nation.  Hit, fight, hammer her.

If they ask Eric Cantor or Michael Steel what day of the week is they say the dims are killing the economy.  If ask them to name their children they say the dims are killing the economy.

You, Michael Steele, if you apologize one more time for the Republican party will lead a petition drive to have you recalled as the Chairman in the next National Party meeting.  Also I hate hip hop.  While your hip hop fools were trying to figure out how to spell Washington, DC, I was actively electing 4 Presidents and overturning the Dims in congress that held on for over 40 years.  Show some respect and stop the dammed stupid apologies.

Eric Cantor you were elected to represent, your district, the Republican party and hopefully conservatism in that order.  The third part is optional but you were not elected to get into pissing contests with Rush Limbaugh.  Since Nancy Pelosi was sworn is as Speaker of the House the Dow Jones has gone down almost 5, 000 points.

If anyone asks you again about Rush Limbaugh just ignore and press ahead with the economy.  Stop the childish, immature, and stupid apologies and infighting.  Get this try to wrap your small minds around this.  Just because you are tempted, and bait is tossed in front of you then you do not have to snap at it.

Take a page from Sarah Palin in her debate with Joe Biden.  Answer any question no matter what is asked with the economy.  That is how Howard Dean killed Bush everything was about the Iraq war.  The economy was dead?  Why?  The Iraq War.   His toilet was backed up at his home it was because of the Iraq WAr.

Grow a brain stop the stupidiy.  FOCUS.  FOCUS.  FOCUS.   FOCUS.  IT IS ABOUT THE ECONOMY AND NOTHING BUT THE ECONOMY.

To The Honorable Mitch McConnell, (R), KY

I have just sent the following letter to the most honorable Mitch McConnell.  I have never said any correspondence what I write and convey in this letter.  Anyone who knows me I believe will be very surprised.

Dear Senator McConnell,

Since I was 7 years old and walking precincts with my grandfather I have supported and fought for Republicans ever since.  Over the 51 years since this initiation into politics I have contributed money, time, service, and everything else I have to getting Republicans elected, and keeping them elected.

In 2008 my oldest grandchild 9 year old William walked with me to support John McCain.  We did not win but we went down fighting.

I have never in that span given any support to any Democrat at any time.  I find Democrats to be loathesome creatures who could not be honest even if you held a gun (now I know why they want them banned) to their heads.

Any Republican that votes for the so called “stimulus” package I will give money and volunteer services to anyone who runs against them in a primary.  If they win their primary I will do whatever is necessary to have them defeated in the general election.   I will give money and donate services to any Democrat that runs against them.

To me the stakes are that high.  To me the Republicans holding ranks on this bill, this terrible, terrible bill that will kill any future that my grandchildren their grandchildren have for as far as time stretches.

Any Republican who moves to harm the future of my children and grandchildren shall have me as an opponent for ad infinitum.  In 51 years I never asked anything from the Republican party except that they be Republicans and honest brokers.

I will never say anything such as this again.  This is one vote, however that the Republicans owe me.

I want it repaid.

John F. King

or as my friends call me Jack.

This is how we win in 2010 and the only way we win….

If we want to win we have to be Republicans…

We have some where along the way lost our way as a party and now the country seems to have lost its way.   The Republicans in the House of Representative must cast a NO vote on the Debt bill that comes up tomorrow.

Everyone that has ever followed politics knows the moment a Republican votes for this type of bill it makes it bipartisan and the GOP loses.  This year, this time, this place we need as a party to stand united; and in the house vote no.   Let the Democtats take ownership of this debacle.

There are too many blue dog Democrats surviving in Repbublican districts for any Republican to vote for this piece of trash.  Let the country see that for once we have principles, we have integrity, and w stand for something.  Let the country see that we have regained our senses and the days of Tom Delay and Dennis Hastert are gone and we learned out lessons.

If you want a campaign slogan for this?  The Republicans are voting NO to socialism and YES to America.  Show that we stand for America.  That we stand for stopping socialism.  Vote NO for America.

When they are asked why they voted that way they can paraphrase the famous Phil Grahm line.  They had a choice to vote with Nancy Pelosi or the people in their district.   The chose the people in their district.

Who knows this might, just might, give some backbone to those gutless wonders in the Senate.

Why we lost, why we will continue to lose…..

Now that it is obvious that Norm Coleman has lost the Senate race in Minnesota I have come out of hibernation.  I made several diary entries last election cycle, but when it became painfully obvious that we were going to get a butt kicking I decided to pull back and watch.   On election night I was astonished at how badly and thoroughly we were defeated.

If we are going to take the majority ever again we have to know and fully understand what transpired over the past four years.  We have to understand that the opposition was smarter, tougher, meaner, more disciplined, and richer then we were. Above all we have to understand and come to grips with the indisputable fact that liberals, Ivy league graduates and Democrats hate us with a passion.

We have to understand that the media hates us with a passion.  That we have no voice in the media the absolute best we can hope for is fair and balanced.

We made so many mistakes commencing in 2005 that I am amazed that we have anyone left in Congress.  The first major mistake was made by George Bush in placing Karl Rove in the White House.  The mindset that makes someone a great campaign strategist is not suited for advocating policy within the White House.

Rove should have been placed as the head of the RNC.   President Bush should have followed is father’s example when Bush 41 placed Lee Atwater as the head of the the RNC.   Every Democrat in Washington was terrified of Atwater.  They knew he would fight.

The next major mistake was for some reason known only to God and the idiots that made it was wanting to fix Social Security.  Only Nixon could go to China, and only a Democrat can fix Social Security.  I told friends of mine at the time that was a terrible decision and would kill his Presidency.

Third for some reason known only to the White House and the people there they absolutely refused to respond to the accusations and charges being leveled at them by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.   Where I come from anyone calls me a liar and that beceoms an automatic invitation tp go outside and resolve this behind the building.  When you don’t respond the accusation becomes fact.  Worse if you don’t respond you appear to be weak and guilty.

The RNC and the White House over the past four years became the most cowardly organizations I have ever witnessed in my 40 plus years of being involed in American Politics.  They took the “Rope a Dope” strategy of Muhammad Ali to all new lows.   I know this much if anyone came to me with a CV that said they worked in the communication offices of the RNC or the White House over the past four years I would never hire them.   The sad thing is that they will all find employment and they shouldn’t.

Hubert Humphrey, the happy warrior, in an unguarded moment said, “I hate Republicans”.  It is time we came to grips with this fact.  I have people that I know who are Democrats and I have even worked with them.  They will when queried say, “present company excluded, I just don’t like Republicans”.  Democrats hate us and they will do whatever is necessary to defeat us.

I am a Conservative when it comes to foreign policy and national defense.   On domestic issues I know them, understand them, and have thoughts on them but to me they do not stir me as foreign and defense issues do.

I do know this if they have an R behind their name I do not care if they are pro or con to abortion.  I do not care if they are for or against gay marriage.  I do not care if they want us to unilaterally disarm.  I care if they have an R.   I also care that they vote for a Conservative Speaker of the House and a Conservative Majority Leader of the Senate.  That is all that matters.  That is all that counts.

We lost because we spent too much time “eating our young.”    Some of these talk show hosts who were not going to endorse John McCain and sat on the sidelines such as Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity until Sarah Palin was announced might as well have been on the payroll of the DNC.  It was a stupidity beyond measure.  When the first Supreme Court Justice is appointed by the Messiah I hope Mr. Limbaugh and Mr. Hannity will be very proud of their creation.

I am retired from the Army.  If I had a subordinate officer come to me who suffered defeats as the GOP did in 2006 and 2008 I would hand him my sidearm and tell him to do the honrable thing.

How John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are still the leaders of the GOP in the House and the Senate are beyond me.  They are two incompetents who do not have the backbones to fight.  They are way too comfortable in the roles of going along to get along.  No one has ever won a campaign of any sort, military, political, or marketing with cowards in their leadership.

The worse thing that Boehner and McConnell represent is that even if they had the nerve and backbone to fight they have no credibility.   They both voted for the worse piece of legislation to come out of the congress in the past 100 years, the bailouts of the financial industry.   Has anyone else noticed that everytime either of them speak of the bailouts being proposed anyone quoting them finishes up by saying how they both voted for Bush’s bailout.  They do not have the moral, or ethical standing to criticize anything proposed by the Messiah’s administration.

The most egregious of them all is Mike Duncan.  How can anyone who did such a misrabale job as Chairman of the RNC still be in contention to run it again.  What is his campaign slogan, “vote me because I am not finished destroying the RNC?”   How about, “vote for me so I can finish my job making sure there are no elected Republicans in the Congress.”

These criticisms to me are not eating my young.  These criticism are made because I am Republican and I do not wish to see the party that I suppoted, and worked for over the past 44 years destroyed.   These three men will do just that.

What amazes me is that we have no voice in the media.  MSNBC and CNN are completely decicated to destroying the Republican party.  The same goes for the Tribune Company and the Times Corporation.  They have one single mission and that is to place the GOP in the trash bin of history.   If Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh want to do something for this country then put together the money people to buy these media outlets.   Each of them are bankrupt or soon will be and can be bought.  We have the ability to literally deny billions and billions of dollars worth of free advertising to the Democrat party.  We can level the playing field.

I will do a post tomorrow in regards to FOX.  They are accused of being a Conservative network, but I don’t see it.  More to come on FOX and its coverages.

If you have read this far thank you for tolerating my rant.  I am going to have more to say in the future.  I had somewhat retired from politics, but that was a mistake.  It is time to get back into this fray.

Political polling 101…

What to look for in a poll

We live in the age of polling. It does not matter that using the word polling is actually a misnomer, the correct term is survey. We are surrounded by polling, pollsters, and other creatures that go bump in the night.

Surveys are measurement devices. They are predictive devices, and should never be used to influence. They should also not be used as a substitute for accurate and detailed journalism.

I just left a message for Roy Blunt…

I hope he has the intelligence to read it....

I did not watch Late Edition yesterday on CNN. If I want to watch something as dishonest as CNN I will do the SciFi channel at least they have plot structures that makes some sense.

I read the review from the Sunday morning talk shows and then went to some other sites and confirmed Roy Blunt’s “whip me, beat me” comments. That “if an economic stimulus plan made sense he would support it.”

Jeremiah Wright is off limits?

does McCain want to win or not?

I am appalled with the conversation that I had today with someone who knows a bit about the inner workings of the McCain campaign. The senior staff has been pushing for almost 2 months to hit Obama with Wright, Ayers, ACORN, Khalifi, and every thing else.

McCain has so far resolutely said no to everything but Ayers. This makes me wonder if he is allowing himself an out. He does not want to do anything that if he loses he will lose his place to be on the good graces of the New York Times, Washington Pose, MSNBC and the like. If he goes after Wright he will not be the liberals favorite curmudgeonly Republican to quote.

Turn Out The Lights The Party’s Over…

Time to concentrate on Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindall, & Eric Cantor

In 1992 the Democrats had six major candidates for the Presidential nomination. At the beginning the two front runners were Bob Kerrey Senator from Nebraska and Al Gore the Senator from Tennessee. Bob Kerrey was the first of the big named candidates to bow out of the race. The last man standing in the Democrat primaries was a little known governor from Arkansas.

Kerrey had it all. He was handsome, very articulate, intelligent, independently wealthy (self made), and a former Governor. If he had been elected President he would also have been the first recipient of the Medal Of Honor in our nation’s history to hold the highest office in the land. That Bob Kerrey had great physical courage was never in doubt. In a fistfight behind the bar my money was on Bob Kerrey even if he did use a prosthetic leg.

Can McCain Still Win?

It is the 11th hour and no more room for mistakes...

We are running out of time. We are fast running out of time and there is dammed little room for maneuvering. The voters are solidifying their positions.

It was a cute stunt attempting to spin the election so that McCain was the agent of change. It came close to working but then inexplicably the McCain campaign took the only person in the race who is outside of the beltway and placed her under tight wraps.

Now it comes down to one definitive question…

If you believe the US is in a fight for its survival...

Who do you want to have your back? I believe the entire nation saw tonight the two men. More importantly they saw who they are.

That begs the question. Do you want to face the future with the fighter or the negotiator? Who do you want leading you into this frightful future?

$12,000,000,000,000.00 in debt by next summer….

looks a bit different with the zeroes

It began after World War I. The defeat of Germany and its allies and the carnage that it took to achieve that victory led the victors to place onerous reparations on the German Republic. Reparations so terrible that when John Maynard Keynes read the peace agreement he predicted another world war within 20 years. He missed it by one year.

After the Axis powers were defeated in 1945 the United States was determined that the practices of the past would not be exercised again. There were to be no reparations paid by the defeated nations. The US actually stepped in and strong armed several American businesses to stop manufacturing certain products so that Japan and Germany could have an economy. The one that springs to mind was the government forcing Honeywell to give up camera and lens manufacturing so that Nikon, Canon, and Leitz could have a chance to get on their feet.

Time To Roll The Dice Again…

and to get Sarah Palin off the hook on foreign affairs....

If John McCain wants to be the 44th President of the United States he has to grab the headlines the rest of the way. He needs to push Barack Obama into the background.

There is a way to do this and do it in a most subtle and dramtaic manner. At the debate on the 26th John McCain should announce to the world that if elected his choice for Secretary of State would be Joe Lieberman. Lieberman would accept it especially if the Dims keep the Senate his career there is finished.

What has to be done with the Wall Street mess…

if I was advising McCain

The collapse of the financial institutes is scary not only for the short term but for the long term. There is a reason that the financial institutions were deregulated for a very good reason. The regulations were strangling the banks and the investment houses. As a matter of fact deregulating this industry was the reason for the big bubble that bailed out the failed Presidency of Bill Clinton.

Every State in the nation regulates any insurance company, bank, or capital finance company doing business within their borders. Just in terms of pure regulation the insurance industry is regulated more then any other industry. They are regulated by every State, territory, and DC. As well as being regulated by the SEC, and other Federal agencies. It was not a lack of regulations that caused this. That was not the cause.

Time To Break Obama’s Ego

He is down it is time to finish it....

The great chess Grand Master Bobby Fisher was once asked what was it about chess that he loved so? Fisher did not hesitate he said, “there is a point in a chess match when you feel your opponent’s ego break. It is the most satisfying feeling in the world.”

The USA Today Gallup survey has John McCain up by 10 points amongst likely voters, and 4 points amongst all voters. This is a conservative country and once again it is on the verge of rejecting an extreme liberal Democrat candidate. Obama is hemorrhaging, and it shows in the campaign’s and his reactions.
