Day by Day Cartoon takes a shot at Erick Erickson.

http://www.daybydaycartoon.com/2011/10/10/

Wow. An ENTIRE CARTOON mocking a man for his comments is so much more classy than a “wow” in a sarcastic remark on Twitter, isn’t it?

I would find this funny, but the hypocrisy that the cartoon writer has shown in that comic is just flat out absurd. He got angry with Erick Erickson for a remark on Twitter and he says it wasn’t very classy, and then published an entire cartoon mocking Erick Erickson in order to prove how classy he, the cartoonist himself, is?

Let me say I am a huge Day by Day Cartoon fan, and I check this cartoon out everyday. Nine days out of ten it’s funny. When it’s focusing on Democrats and their mistakes or policies it’s funny. This wasn’t funny. Day by Day Cartoon is supposed to be a conservative cartoon that pokes fun of Democrats politics and Democrat Policies, not lambastes other Republicans for not liking the cartoonist’s chosen candidate.

Ehh.

He spelled Erick’s name wrong.

Well, at least it wasn’t redstate.org.

True.

On both counts. If you’re going to poke fun of someone, you should at least get the name right. And I’ve heard of the infamous “redstate, org” mistakes.

“Status quo,” as you know, is Latin for “the mess we’re in”.

Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.

It's fair

When the point is to look at politics and prick the balloons of absurdity, isn’t one of the most inviting targets those Republicans who seem to make a habit of tarring and feathering other Republicans for their relatively small disagreements? Reagan created the 11th commandment for a reason. Today’s thought leaders should bring the 11th commandment back and stop trashing Republican voters who disagree with them on what are, after all, minor points with the destruction of the US progressing as rapidly as it is.

Nah, not really.

Nothing against Stacy McCain, but if I had to choose between him and Erick running RedState I’d pick Erick in a heartbeat and have time left over to check my mail.

thanks but

I’m not sure how that addressed my point.

It's me disagreeing that Muir made a fair point.

In my opinion, replacing Erickson with McCain would have a decidedly negative impact on the site.

You did read the comic, yes?

oh, now I get it

Beaglescout (Diary) Monday, October 10th at 2:28PM EST (link)

I agree with that. Stacy McCain may be one heck of a reporter with good instincts for the news but he hasn’t been leading any teams or groups of any size, at least not recently. So the punch line isn’t funny. But the setup of that cartoon is apropos as can be. Why pick on voters for any candidate, just because the candidate won’t survive the primaries? I thought we wanted all the voters who were on our side to vote for the Republican in the general. But when Republicans attack supporters of various candidates as somehow tainted by their support of a candidate, that discourages them from voting at all in the general election.

And that is the problem as I see it. If you don’t see that as a problem then you need to open your eyes. We will need every voter we can get to outweigh the vote fraud squad that’s in place for 2012.

Agreed

Between the Jamie Radtke incident, streiff treating Michelle Malkin like a complete n00b during the Gardisil discussion, and Erick taking on the tactics of a common spammer to piss off Palin fans, RedState has been looking more lost lately than the Indianapolis Colts without Peyton Manning.

Problem is, I’ve seen no serious indication by the higher-ups here that they consider any of these to be mistakes. At least the Colts know they’re 0-5.

If RedState was a sports team, there would be a lot of grousing by the fans, and some would be calling for a new coach. Day By Day seems to be one of them. Sadly, as much as I would like to defend RedState, I can understand their point, and I don’t have any kind of decent counter-argument.

Let’s get down to brass tacks here. How much for the ape?

Radke shouldn't have mucked up her speech;

Moe Lane (Diary) Monday, October 10th at 12:57PM EST (link)

…Malkin shouldn’t let her anti-immigration stance bleed over into the anti-vac movement; and, frankly, if *I* was running this site I would have kept the 1x/hour Palin-is-not-running posts going until she finally announced what a lot of people knew six months ago.

But we welcome feedback, so here’s the contact link for Eagle Publishing.

Who are you and what have you done with Moe Lane?

Finrod (Diary) Tuesday, October 11th at 4:40AM EST (link)

Wow.

Um.

Ok.

I’m going to focus just on the Palin posts for right now.

If I tried to pull that kind of stunt in the diaries, you’d bring the Ban Hammer down on me with mighty force by the third one, if not sooner, and you would be perfectly correct to do so.

Spamming is also considered by everyone but anarchists to be unacceptable netiquette.

It would be egregious to use such a low technique like this against a bitter enemy, but to use it against someone on our own side? Just to make a political point of obscure value?

Sure, you can pull the ‘site owner’ card, but then you’re insulting your readers (they Deserve that spam), which isn’t a path to increased prestige and influence of RedState.

I guess I just don’t understand where this site is trying to go any more. I can’t imagine how sending any of this to the contact address would do any good whatsoever, because it’s the people at the contact address that are IMHO taking this site in that direction.

Let’s get down to brass tacks here. How much for the ape?

He has a sock stuffed in his mouth and is in the deepest , darkest heart of America, as you must have assumed. We are soon taking him to frozen wasteland to negotiate oil deals with that country riding piggyback on U.S.

This all we can disclose anymore at this point.

her ignorance on the subject, from epidemiology and public health standpoints, was simply embarrassing.

By the way, if we are so dumb and you are so smart why are you posting on our blog. Just curious.
