“…we’ve got to go ahead and make some decisions, and then that’s what elections are for.” – Barrack Obama
“They were elected. They are not doing anything they were not elected to do.” – Bill Clinton
Enough with the bellyaching about “gangster government” and howls of protest when people like Bart Stupak voted for health care reform.
WHAT DID WE EXPECT?
We, the American people, voted Democrats into office, and now we’re outraged when they vote like Democrats. That’s like buying a cat that’s just a little pregnant and then complaining when the kittens arrive. We planted thorns and now we’re shocked…SHOCKED, I say…that we can’t pick flowers.
Enough already.
Here’s one time when we ought to listen to current President Obama and former President Clinton. They are telling us the truth. Elections ARE the answer.
Of course, there’s just one minor detail, you know, the one about actually having somebody to vote for…
The Wall Street Journal today published an article entitled, “GOP Bid To Reclaim Senate Fuels Fight For Party’s Soul.” Here’s a sample:
The Cornyn approach: “We need candidates who can win,” says Mr. Cornyn. “What we’re in the business of is reinforcing our numbers, and the only way you do that is by winning elections.”
Many Republican strategists share Mr. Cornyn’s outlook. Elections, they say, are often determined by independents uneasy with ideologues on either side. Democrats pulled off big wins in 2006 and 2008 in large part by recruiting candidates who didn’t adhere to liberal orthodoxy.
Um, don’t look now, but many of those Democrats who supposedly “didn’t adhere to liberal orthodoxy” just helped Obama cram a massive dose of said liberal orthodoxy right down the collective throats of the American people. Democrats going along with their Democrat president…gosh, who woulda thunk it?
Bart Stupak was NEVER going to vote against health care reform, abortion funding or not. We were stupid to think he would, and we’re even stupider to act shocked that he didn’t.
We, the American people, have sown the wind and now we’re reaping the whirlwind. Get over it already. If we don’t like having crooks, liars and liberals (of both parties) in government, then HOW ABOUT WE STOP ELECTING THEM?!

pilotguy40 (Diary) Tuesday, April 20th at 8:45AM EST (link)Acorn and others registered every person they could… and if their IQ was about the same as their shoe size so much the better… And the type of government we get from that is… well look around.
And I have looked online for how to get involved with the local Republicans… We have to overcome this or the Republic is DOOMED.
pilotguy40, what state are you in?
ColdWarrior (Diary) Tuesday, April 20th at 1:22PM EST (link)Getting involved as a precinct committeeman where you live is THE answer — it should be every conservative’s top priority.

and to my blog below. If you need help finding your local GOP committee or information on how your state’s system works regarding how to become a precinct committeeman, please e-mail me at coldwarrior1978 at gmail dot com.
It all boils down to the same thing in every state, though — you have to go to your local committee monthly meeting and announce that you want to learn how to become a voting member of the Party so you can vote for the leadership of the Party in the next internal Party elections. Once you’ve become a precinct committeeman, you can run for the leadership positions, too. Indeed, if there are presently vacancies in your local committee in the leadership slot, you might even get appointed to a leadership position.
Thank you.
