The rise of an unknown and the lesson for the Presidential campaign

Narcissism and egotism does not make a President

The biggest lesson of the John Edwards its only sex story comes from Edwards own mouth “I went from being a senator, a young senator, to being considered for vice president, running for president, being a vice presidential candidate and becoming a national public figure,” he told ABC’s “Nightline” on Friday. “All of which fed a self-focus, egotism, a narcissism that leads you to believe that you can do whatever you want. You’re invincible. And there will be no consequences.”

A little whine with that cheese

This is the Barack Obama story in a nutshell EXCEPT he is the Presidential candidate not the VP. The difference will be that Obama will be making life and death decisions and not be held back by 99 other Senators or the members of the House because they are packed with his liberal friends.

We have already seen egotism, a narcissism that leads The One to believe that he can do whatever he wants and The One believes he is invincible. The no consequences portion of Edwards’s rebuke of himself would be deadly to the US for The One.

That Edwards’s mea culpa spells out the why Obama should be sent home to Chicago was just the cherry on the top of the ice cream.

Hope and Change are NOT serious answers to very serious problems that must be handled by the President of the United States of America as the Russian incursion into a smaller country proves…..there was no change in that move and there is no hope that the dangers of the world change because we WISH to change.

Which is why experience matters..

The dark side has tried to make age a negative issue. Rather, I see age as a level of experience in knowing how to solve problems. To be blunt, the Messiah has no discernable experience other than as a community organizer/activist who happened to get elected and votes present, instead of taking a position.

At a state or local level the damage done is minimal. However, at the Federal level or as President the potential damage that can be done is greatly magnified. Can we afford that for any short term duration, if at all?

{W}e{‘}re not talking about experience{!} John {M}c{C}ain has been in {W}ashington for 26 years {now,} and if his experience had brought about any results then we wouldn{‘}t have a bankrupt economy right now{:} {As always, when I edit these, I don’t edit for sense. But reading the rest of this, maybe I should start? – ML} we wouldn{‘}t have a 480 billion dollar budget def{i}cit{;} nor would we be in debt to the rest of the world {(} in the amount of 10 trillion and counting{)} {-} so if his experience is his best quality then it hasn{‘}t amounted to all the “hype” surrounding his so-{} called experience{.}

Let's do the math.

McCain: Has never requested nor received pork in 26 years.

Obama: Has requested almost $1 Billion in pork in under 3 years.

You can see it here.

you’re acting like McCain has been running the country for the past 26 years. I do not agree with Bush or McCain, but painting them as the black sheep responsible for all the ills of the country (recall the current majority party in congress and their approval rating) is ridiculous. I am ashamed to say that I supported Obama for a time (until Rev. Wright danced out of the closet) because I was taken by his ‘hope and change’ rhetoric. I agree that the current situation in America is poor, but Obama will merely make things worse; he makes the Clintons look good by comparison. If they could outfit a football team with their skeletons-in-the-closet, Obama could fill the stadium to capacity and still have enough left for the opposing team and a cheerleading squad.

Don’t leave the party, hijack it back!

The only poll that counts is the one at the ballot box.

I don’t want to be Reagan. I want to be a Chance/Soros hybrid.

Recommended. Obama has lived in a worse echo chamber than Edwards.

When “reporters” applaud Obama’s remarks at a press conference, it is easy to see how easy it is for him to make the transition from egotism and narcissim into messianic hubris. Fortunately, the more the public gets familiar with this “unknown,” the sooner he wears thin. I imagine a major goal of Obama’s Hawaii vacation was to take him out of the public eye for a bit.
