Trump Loves Him Some Campaign Finance Reform

Anyone who pays serious attention to Donald Trump knows that, the more he opens his mouth, the more he exposes his phony conservative credentials. There are numerous examples of this, but one of the most recent concerns his comments on campaign finance reform in New Hampshire. Our friends at Digitas Daily have the clip:

There’s actually a couple of things to discuss here, but let’s begin with the main point first. We now have Trump on record as saying he “loves the idea of campaign finance reform”. If you remember, that was one of our biggest problems with [mc_name name=’Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000303′ ] back in 2008: his co-authoring of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill with leading Senate progressive Democrat Russ Feingold. Is that what Trump wants to see more of?

The second thing I want to point out is Trump’s comment on lobbyists. He apparently seems to love using them. His exact statement is, “I have all these lobbyists, you know. I know them all. I’ve hired many of them over the years. They’re very good.” He doesn’t merely acknowledge that they are regrettably a necessity for any big business in today’s world. Instead, he is open and seemingly proud about the fact that he utilizes their services. He tries to present himself as someone who cannot be bought, unlike all the other candidates, but can we really trust someone with this kind of attitude towards lobbyists? Many of them are probably old friends at this point, and it sounds like the door will be open to them in a Trump White House.

At any rate, these comments are merely a couple more reasons why no conservative should trust Donald Trump. Hopefully, the more people are exposed to his real views, as opposed to the red meat generalities of campaign rhetoric, they’ll come to see things likewise.
