Vote NO on Prop. 20

IJB Friday, October 15th at 8:38PM EST (link)

Why anyone thinks that a so-called “commission”, UNACCOUNTABLE TO THE VOTERS, is the solution is beyond me.

And, if the process for picking the State Legislative “commission” is any guide, this commission is also likely to be stacked with AFSCME and ethnic grievance types (I’m sure the so-called “Republicans” on the “commission” will end up being RINOs).

If a so-called “commission” is put in charge of this process, I’ll put money down they’ll end up eliminating every Republican House district they can find. It’ll end up worse than NJ’s.

He's an admitted "left-leaning independent"

Which means he votes Democrat only 9 times out of 10 and not all 10.

It must have been a REALLY bad diary to merit such a poor video! nt

My rules of the road for primary season.
Rule #1: Vote for YOUR first choice in the primaries
Rule #2: Vote for the R in the general.
Rule #3: Don’t let anyone convince you to violate Rule #1 or Rule #2
Rule #4: When in a center-right argument, reaffirm Rules #1-#3–it will help us all to get along better.
Rule #5: If you are using the language of the left, you probably aren’t furthering conservativism
Rule #6: The priority is issues first, candidates second, and supporters third. Nobody is bigger than the issues. Conversely, if you spend your time focusing on supporters, you are wasting everyone’s time.

STOP THE MADNESS!

A reduction in the rate of spending increases is NOT a cut!
In-state tuition for illegals is NOT amnesty!
Requiring someone to pay their medical bills is NOT an individual mandate!
Reducing tax rates is NOT a tax increase!

I always imagined this guy sang under duress, but no, this is just how they did television back in the USSR :)

You need to watch again

Apparently you missed all the subliminal messages and code being sent out for freedom fighters. Frank Zappa and Lou Reed Velvet Underground did the same thing for the Czech freedom fighters like Vaclav Havel. Pay close attention ;^)

ahh...I should have known there would be subliminals

the cheesy liezure suit, the toupe’ like hair, the poor lip sinking, the way the guy never changes expressions….or the music.

I’ve seen bad before…but this is over the top bad

I'm assuming it's a style based on throat singing

Neil Stevens (Diary) Saturday, October 16th at 12:10PM EST (link)

Which is actually impressive stuff. Definitely no words in it.

This guy though isn’t really throat singing, and he won awards in the USSR as a popular singer.

It took me a long time to learn to sing along with that.

This is a comment by Inoljt.

When I first started posting here at redstate, I was definitely aware that this site was quite a bit more right-leaning than the generally liberal sites I mostly post on.

As I said in the description of my biography, I am a left-leaning individual – so a lot of stuff I generally put on my blog would not fly here. I was very aware of that. So I limited myself to posting about electoral analysis – which is something that I’m quite fascinated about – hoping to get a different take on things from the generally liberal opinions I’m used to.

Anyways, the original post was about my support for Proposition 20 – which is about gerrymandering. On most of the more left-leaning sites I go on, Proposition 20 is opposed. Democrats control California’s legislature, and so people look forward to an upcoming 2010 Democratic gerrymander of CA – which will make Republicans lose seats. I think Nancy Pelosi herself donated money to fight Proposition 20. On the post, I posted a lot of pictures of proposed Democratic gerrymanders, which I criticized heavily.

So I thought that Proposition 20 would be something that Republicans would support. Approving it probably will result in something like five to eight more Republican seats in CA than would otherwise be the case. Apparently I was wrong – something which surprises me.

Anyways, I definitely take no offense that you banned me; this site is admittedly a place that I would not fit extremely well with. I was trying to toe a very tricky line, and it looks like I failed in doing that.

I do hope that, if any of you are interested in seeing more stuff like non-biased analysis of swing states (I feel my analysis was not biased, anyways; you may disagree), feel free to visit my blog. I will definitely check out this site in the future, even if I don’t post diaries anymore – because I feel the difference in political views with what I normally see is refreshing

Thanks,
