No Guns For Negroes

Another exceptional pro-Second Amendment movie about the racist roots of gun control, brought to you by JFPO. Best 20 minutes I’ve spent watching a video in a very long time.
Watch it here, you won’t be sorry you did: No Guns For Negroes

Would like to learn more about The Deacons. Just reserved the Lance Hill book at my local library.

Have heard about them in passing. Some in The Black Panthers claim to be carrying on the legacy of The Deacons. Don’t buy that, but strip away all the poisonous Marxist garbage & the BPP message was one of self-reliance & personal dignity. That’s a very positive message & it appears to be what The Deacons preached.

One quibble is that I cringe whenever Godwin’s law comes up. Would prefer not to accuse my opponents of emulating white supremacists. However Michael Moore is selling the dishonest NRA=KKK line. In fact, the NRA is our nation’s first Civil Rights organization. So I completely understand the desire to push back on this point.

Interesting that this video challenges the popular image of a Civil Rights movement led by saints. We’ve heard people on the left challenge that image, in attempt to legitimize MLK’s controversial opposition to the Vietnam War. We don’t hear that narrative often challenged by the right. Perhaps because we’re too worried about being seen as attacking Civil Rights?

For example, take John McCain’s past opposition to designating MLK’s birthday as a holiday. McCain gave much of his life (including time in the Hanoi Hilton) supporting the Vietnam War. No wonder he was skeptical of King. Again, I’m not trying to diminish King. His Dream redeemed much of what was wrong with America.

But the sanitized, PC, consensus narrative on Civil Rights is that they were all pacifists, willing to lay down their lives without a fight. That’s just not true, nor even plausible. Republicans shouldn’t support this mythology. It overwhelmingly leads black people to vote Democrat, anyway.

Maybe we’ve put too much emphasis on pacifist Christian doctrine? If so, we’d be wise to remeber Luke 22:36.

“Obama is not a centrist. He was never centrist. He is a uniter. He does reach across the aisle. But he always do so in pursuit of progressive ends.”
