at ASU because, in the words of the faculty committee, Obama “lacks accomplishment”. Heh.

You receive a big “scholarship”, more money than you actually need, you can’t refuse it, and then after you spend it you find out it’s really a loan and you have to pay it back with exorbitant interest.

“Arizona State University officials have decided to rename the school’s largest financial aid program after President Barack Obama in honor of his commencement address to ASU’s 2009 graduating class, reports The Arizona Republic”

“The decision to rename the scholarship program came shortly after ASU began receiving negative publicity for not choosing to award President Obama with an honorary degree. ASU President Michael Crow apologized for the stir created by the university’s controversial decision but stood by his adherence to the school’s policy, which doesn’t allow for honorary degrees to be awarded to sitting politicians.”

So… their policy says… nope.. no degree… so the policy, long standing as it is, is thrown under the Obama Bus along with capitalism and Nancy Pelosi and the school caves in to not give the Big Guy an honorary degree they could not give anyway, but are giving money to students in His name.

Yep…. The world as we know it has ended. Thank goodness no one I know is going to ASU!
