Have a little faith! You are listening to the MSM and the polls that tell you that it is over. Why even bother to vote? This is exactly what the left candidates and the MSM want you to think! Stand up and vote your conscience! IF on Nov 5th we are saddled with an empty-suit, far-left liberal goofball, then at least you can look in the mirror and say that you did everything you can do to prevent this from happening. If you take a defeatist attitude towards the election then you (and all other like-minded repub/conservatists) only have yourself to blame.

The fact is that no person like that would ever make it past the nomination process because the press would have hounded him to death before he even got to New Hampshire.

Does anyone think that a Republican Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee could keep his seat in Congress, let alone his chairmanship, if he was caught cheating on his taxes? When it's a Democrat the press reports it once, if at all, with all the Dem spin included, and then never again. If it's a Republican the story, and the "unanswered questions" are repeated over and over, even with nothing new being reported.

Look, Obama has a very short voting record, and his words, though clever, are short on specifics. So people look at his personal history to try to figure out who the guy really is. His mother was a hippie. His father was absent, and a foreigner. His associates and mentors in college, law school and his early career were Marxists and other left-wingers, to which he has now added the Chicago political machine. His Pastor was also a far left anti-American advocate of liberation theology. I think in the absence of a long record, this history tells you who the guy is.

be? a] Fighting to hold his seat on the local PTA board. b]Thrown bodily out of the local Republican Club. c] Sitting in his lawyer's office disappointed at being told that he had no chance in a defamation suit after his reputation was destroyed by the town newspaper. d] Sadly wondering why he only got seven votes in the Library Trustee election. And last, fighting to get snarling demonstrators off his front lawn, his wife and children terrified.

Now if on the other hand this candidate was a muslim who once was Osama Bin Laden's private cook, and who denounced America as an outlaw nation, you would see his smiling and benign visage on the front page of the NY Times, "Islamic Progressive Combats Hate".
It's a great world.

Clearly the country is not ready for a full on evangelical President. Heck even the gop rejecting gov Huck.

The lesson here is that even thoguh the country may be religious, it doesn't want a President who would be perceived to be attempting to impose their particular religion upon the nation.

If McCain loses, and I am as sure as ever that he will win, the gop will have to decide exactly what it stands for. If it decides to become a Goldwateresque Conservative party it will regain power in a few cyclkes but if it decides to become an evangelical religious party then it will be in the wilderness forever.

Obama's toxic associations aren't the kind of negatives that tank a campaign overnight. But over time, they have a very corrosive effect on the candidate's image, and keep that candidate from closing the sale with voters.

In '88, the Willie Horton ad gradually showed that Dukakis was not some kind of "new Democrat", but just the same old bleeding heart/knee-jerk liberal. But people didn't wake up one morning and say, "omg, Dukakis released that murderer from prison!" It was more of a slow bleed....but over time, it made them feel very queazy about him.

Obama's friends may be one reason that this morning's AP poll shows 14% of voters are either undecided or persuadable. This is a devastating number for the Obama campaign--In state after state against Clinton (NH-CA-TX-OH, etc.) late deciders broke against him by 3-1. He is a very weak closer.

A hard-hitting Wright ad is being aired this weekend in key battleground states; to contribute, go to:
goptrust.com
This election is definitely starting to slip away from Obama, as people begin to realize that we're electing a new Commander-in-Chief, not student body president.

between your example and real life is that the Christian extremeists at worst committed (very heinous and inexcusable) crimes. However, as long as the candidate was not implicated in the actual crime, he is on guilty of having a few weird friends or holding some weird ideology.

Ayers, on the other hand, is someone who was actively working at destroying the USA. Someone who is trying to become the leader of a country should not be palling around with those who desire to destroy it.

I really don't think any one really cares about these associations anymore. I'm not being down on our man; and I am not minimizing the associations at all ( I am actually sickened by these "friends").
But I really think its just too late for this.

If someone came out with a tape of Obambi in a cave with Osama bin laden, I'm sure he would come up with some tenuous explaination (Well I was researching Foreign Policy) and that would be that.
