ANYTHING LESS THAN THE SPEAKER’S GAVEL IN 160 DAYS IS UTTER AND COMPLETE FAILURE. THE SENATE* IS WITHIN REACH.

Your conclusion fails, as Obama is not on the ballot
civil truth (Diary) Wednesday, May 26th at 10:50AM EST (link)Rather, we have 435 individual House races and 33 (34?) individual Senate races coming up in 2010.
All politics is local – those races will largely depend on the quality of the candidates that Republicans run and the level of civic responsibility that their consituency exercises. If we don’t run sound candidates – or if the voters either reject reality or succumb to corrupt inducements – then the secondary effects of Obama’s popularity will have only limited impact.
The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis
