I know short fluff entries are forbidden but hopefully you forgive me this one-off. This is HUGE. Anyone who watched him on Fox News Sunday could see he was leaning strongly toward “yes.”

Either this means that Pelosi already has the votes and was able to let Altmire vote no, or the dam is breaking and the Democrats are in serious trouble. Thoughts? (Hard analysis preferred over wishful thinking, please). :-)

When Representatives start talking about the wishes of the people of the district they represent, that means there bucking there own party. For analysis, Altmire expressed pretty well the reasons for what he is going to do; that is vote no.

“Simply moving money around within the existing system, rather than enacting real delivery-system reform, might change who pays the bill, but it does not improve the quality of care or reduce costs for families, small businesses or the federal government. It creates a system of winners and losers, rather than reforming the system in a way that lets everyone win.”

You don’t go back on that!
